It's more like, if you made a reservation at a restaurant, ordered your food and then showed up and before you sat down you changed your mind and left. Still ridiculous to compare providers to restaurants, but if you must, thats the closest.

We aren’t restaurants... If you look at other services like RMTs, chiropractors, therapists, etc... 95% of them have cancellation policies. If you don’t cancel with more than 24hrs notice, you pay the cancellation fee... Which is often 50-100% of the original fee, since, as mentioned above...

If this is a thing for you, then maybe it would be better for you to go to an establishment that offers a line up.. Otherwise you are absolutely wasting providers time, especially if you're not compensating for that wasted time.
