It isn't really. Being sure subs are paid before making the final payment ensures you will not have one of said subs lien your property. I have been a Contractor for many years, and it really isn't that complicated...be sure your Contractor pays everyone involved before making the final...

I think you would have better luck if you listed your location. I am a full scale Reno Contractor, but most likely not in the same area as you, and we are booked up until Summer currently.
