I would love to see a minority government with the Greens holding 6-8 seats. And I hope Emily Lowan sticks to her guns and forces the NDP to sign an agreement that bring forth proportional representation in our next provincial election.
That would literally guarantee nothing would get done, and we'd have another election in a couple of years. A Green vote is a wasted vote, unless it dilutes the NDP vote..

Shame we don't have a party (with a chance of winning) that is similar to Carney. I don't like what the NDP have done but the Cons are the only choice? :(

This group of people makes me sick.

https://globalnews.ca/news/12076278...ion-land-cowards-kamloops-white-nationalists/

It's a pretty sad day when masked racist assholes openly try to intimidate the First Nations groups and supporters with this kind of crap. But they don't have the courage to show their faces of course. This is hate, pure and simple and these clowns should be rounded up and arrested. There should be no place for this in BC today, nor Canada, nor anywhere else for that matter.

It's a BC story, but I certainly blame MAGA and the dumbing down of the world led by the US for this kind of crap happening. Holocaust deniers are arrested in Canada, but residential school deniers seem to get a pass. Anyone with any kind of common sense or a decent level of intelligence should think this is abhorrent. If you support it, I pity you. Any politician that doesn't condemn it or worse, supports it, ought to lose badly next month.

A great deal can get done with minority governments and the legislation is well thought through as it is determined through consensus and positive dialogue. A vote is not a waste unless the voter has thrown darts at the wall!

The new conservative leaders are not the whack jobs the party had bounced around with previously. Under Rustad (and arguably with more diversity in candidates last election), they almost defeated Eby, and could have with couple of more popular candidate decisions.

Now, rejoice! Ding-Dong the wacko witch is dead. The centrist moderates with actual records and experience are at the helm now, albeit for a short time only until the election, but finally, common sense prevails.

Eby and the NDP are a compete fucking failure, raising taxes, bunkrupting the province, driving away investment, screwing up DRIPA, and underperforming on social programs they hold so dear. Hospital shutdowns on their watch? Sure blame the bully to the south for that too. Morons.

Despite the flux with the Conservatives, they are clearly the opposition. They are more like a mosaic of Liberals, Progressives/Socreds, and Conservatives all gunning for Eby. And if people hear moderate/centric views from the leaders and their local candidates in the weeks to come, they could well shove Eby’s fuckups so far up his ass he will be ruined forever. Let us pray.

Agreed

And as a horse owner and fan of racing, Eby and his fuckups destroyed about $700M of the agri-economy by fucking the horsemen in the Hastings Park fiasco. Its complicated and this is not the forum to get into it, but suffice to say that every race horse represents a myriad of tax payers and downstream businesses deep into the farming communities of the province, gone because of these morons.

Add in fuck up K.Sims and the ABC idiots and the Hastings closure is just so representative of what is wrong in the province.

(Not to hijack the provincial election but while on the soap box, may I say that the only Vancouver civic group that voted against allowing carte blanche for council to just pass developments was TEAM - and that meant the only civic party that actually wanted to make sure there was a due process about development in any area of the city ... just in case you wanted to know why you were never notified of a new high rise about to spring up next door to your place)

Voting now a days is just sea sawing back and forth from one bad choice to another. Based on which choice you have had enough of , until you can’t stand the other anymore , and flip flop again .

Eby and the NDP called a halt to projects when they realized the deficit and debt was ballooning, then suddenly they are on again with the call of an election. Now he is making promises to cut costs for citizens but where is he going to get the revenue to replace the lost revenue created by his cuts? B.C.’s Credit rating has been downgraded twice under Eby, resulting in the province paying higher interest rates with more revenue and tax dollars going to debt servicing. We can not keep living on credit and increased debt servicing with no plan to reduce and repay the debt. The public service has grown by 30% but are services any better or faster? Not at all! They say about the number of medical staff recruited, but how many have we lost, what is the net gain and are we any better off. Waits for appointments, surgeries, and emergency room closures have not improved. If everyone recalls his newscast after the last election he stated the people sent a strong message and the government would do better, which we know did not happen, it has only gotten worse. Eby is well beyond his best before date and needs to be replaced.

His gas tax promises today are completely irresponsible and will add directly to the deficit. He's promising money he doesn't have.

Irresponsible - now there is the magic word for the shit show that is our provincial government.

There are some good people in there, Adrian Dix, Mike Farnsworth, Ravi Kahlon to name the few, but what can they do when the overall governance is so weak.

Rather than what have they not accomplished or what have they fucked up, I look at what has actually improved, what has been done and has that made BC better? That is a pretty bleak landscape.

Now he wants to regulate gas prices and grocery prices. Sure prices are high but trying to control these things is no better than China, Russia, or North Korea. He wants to take on big corporations that have more wisdom, influence, and control than he can challenge. Reduce your prices or what?? Idle threats.

Gas is high because we don’t have enough refining capability in BC. If you convert our prices to the equivalent U.S., they are paying about the same in the Pacific Northwest. Alberta oil goes to the U.S. at a reduced price, refined and sold back to us. The NDP have stymied the oil and gas industry, remember they didn’t want the Trans Mountain pipeline which brings oil to the lower mainland.

BC has created bureaucracies to manage the ferries and transit, and look at how that is going. High prices, deficits, poor service, dismissal outlook, and fat cats overpaid.

He always wants a study, creating a group or hire a company to analyze things, more spending, doing what the government was elected to do. It is a fraud, applying teflon coating and not having to take responsibility. He promised $1000 during the last election, promised to build a school after one was destroyed by fire years ago, says to buy Canadian but do as I say and not as I do, didn’t want to build the Site C dam but even now we buy power from the U.S. at certain times of the year, didn’t make a ruling of the Vancouver Parks Board, didn’t want to take action on Metro Vancouver. There is no forward thinking, decision making, nor action, just a lame duck.

Eby makes promises and never follows through. He doesn’t want to make decisions. Don’t vote for the little parties, it is a wasted vote or they become the tail wagging the dog. Time for change.

I think Eby really has no plan. He's more and more like Trump during this campaign; just throwing things out there at random.

He's really flirting with communist-like state control wanting to control prices for food, gasoline and taxing (fining) developers who can't sell condos because Eby has destroyed the economy. Good luck trying to attract investment in any of those sectors. He's really gone off the deep end attacking Jimmy Pattison. He's financed more hospitals than the government.

If u lovee the lying cheating pedo so much, feel free to move on down there
It has nothing to do with liking Trump, but it is just dumb that every bad thing that is happening to 🇨🇦, everyone just blames Trump. Eby blows a surplus, creates a huge deficit, fucks up BC and then blames Trump and numpties like you agree it is Trump's fault. Everything that is bad has nothing to do with our own Gov's incompetence but Trump. If that is not TDS then ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

When that referendum ran, all I can remember is all the fear mongering about fringe parties and wack jobs getting elected. As if that has made any difference!
True proportional representaton would be a lot closer to real democracy, where now the party in power has pretty much unfettered access to fuck things up royally.
At least the parlimentary system is not an electoral college which is so open to corruption, as we see.
