The fact that anyone would believe for even 1 second that Trump would give them $5k after he promised DOGE refunds, tariff refunds and every other promise made has been ignored or never mentioned again shows exactly how gullible and stupid a certain portion of US voters are. Any attention paid to that GOP event in Texas is wasted time. They have already crashed Grindr apparently, since so many of them are closeted gay men looking for hookups. Canadian banks operate in the USA in accordance with local regulations.
Trump wants Canadian regulations changed to align with US state regulations to allow US banks to operate as they wish.
Harper tried to harmonize our regs with the US and we’re damn lucky he failed.

I have to wonder how many, like myself, have just stopped listening to all the shit pouring up from the US administration. So much is just irrelevant and frankly desperate verbal diarrheic.
