Today I got a threatening phone call from an asshole saying I was wasting his whore's time and I'll need to pay up. I also got a text saying if I didn't pay up he'd execute my family. Really fuckin' nice...

I still use texting apps..even to SP'swho say they will not accept texting apps...works everytime for me.
Did they send you a photo of 3 or 4 latinos holding AK-47's and then follow up with a phone call? Demanding $2,500? And they know where you live? Yep, already got that one too. I laughed and told them to come on over. I even asked if the guys would want coffee or Coronas.
😅 Great one! Unfortunately I got the call when I was on a walk with my wife - just figured it was the usual CRA scam or something so I answered to mess with them. Then this guy starts shouting that I was wasting his whore's time and I better pay up. I said something then quickly hung up. My wife asked what that was about. Oh, you know, some stupid scam... I think she probably heard the guy he was so loud!

Happened the same to me. Texted some SPs asking rates and the same day received a threatening text message with a random gorish photo, saying that I was wasting his girls time and he and his organization won't tolerate it, so I must pay a fare or someone of my family will end like the guy in the photo. The only problem is that no one of my family lives here in Canada hahahah
If you are using your actual phone to contact SP's and you are in a relationship or married, there's questions about both your sanity and your intelligence. Burner phone, text app, using your big head instead of your little head is important. These scams happening all the time, they are posted every other week or so.
I find that these messages come from people where the ad is usually a Hispanic provider,almost like an Instagram model look. If you look closely there are things that don't add up, such as an outrageously low rate like $150, but they have multiple ads in other cities and even provinces. Additionally, these ads at times are verified. I'm suspecting these are girls from out of country just taking photos with verification details for Leolist and are either being pimped or paid out by these scammers for their pics.
I use TextNow and it works pretty well for me.
TextFree is another one that seems pretty popular.
Apps are great, for initial inquiries and getting the info you need before deciding if you and the sp are a good fit for eachother.
Any old smart phone with a chip from Speakout at 7-Eleven will do the job and be completely anonymous

That's one of many. They have these girls in places like Tijuana taking pics for them, they're paying them, pimping them, and then using their pics to run their scams. They're posing as cartel, but they're usually the same guys selling you counterfeit silver in touristy areas of Mexico.
