I think you're just reading into it too much. She might just be getting into it and closing her eyes or looking off to the side is the way she focuses. Or, the lack of expression might be disconcerting to her. Try to engage her while 'in mish' with facial expressions that relay you having fun or whatever. Then she might be more interested in what you're doing.
