Just a heads up to those visiting the new Platium Club on 107 and 124

Formaly Asana Spa.. yes We are all well aware of this insite.
But It would seem that the board on that strech of road in E-town
Is a little.. ok a whole hell of a lot... Pissed that they are now open
I have heard many rumblings around the Buisness sector about it.
Keep you eyes open when you stop in.. and Please for the MP's sake
Knock on the right door.. not the Damn Daycare!...

I'm looking foward to stopping in and I see no problem with it
but there are a few people that are a little uptight.

Just a heads up:eek:

What you're saying, DQguy, is that the 124 St. Business Association is not too happy about an adult massage studio opening in this trendy shopping district full of historic buildings and unique one-of-a-kind shopping boutiques.

although there are a few unique shops on that street, the massage parlour should be the least of its worries. they should try and get rid of all the drug addicts and dealers on the street to clean up the image before anything else. that particular area isnt what i would consider gold by any means, and i can understand why some business' are angry, but hasnt saphire been across the street for a long time? i just dont understand why they are opposed to asana spa, yet have one across the street and not complain about it earlier

The Rep of the 124 Street Business Association ...

Ms. Nolan is the same Gal that gave Rhythm a difficult time when they opened. I believe that she left Saphire alone because it had been there for so long it would have seemed publicly foolish to challenge it after 10 years. The fact that Platinum Club is new gives her this opportunity.

She only backed off on Rhythm when the Sun did an article and pointed out that Rhythm was a licensed legal taxpayer and was really not the culprit for the 'roughness" in the area. There is an old thread with the full details on this issue back about 3 to 4 years.

Just some info ... T

IMHO, They are pissed because the day care and parlor are in the same location.
That I feel is the main reason.. and the fact that they won with the closing of
Asana Spa, only to have it reopen as something else.
For some reason they feel that MP's bring bad people to the area.
Which is not true, but how do you tell an uptight bunch that it might bring
their husbands??

124 St is a neat strip, it's like Whyte Ave without all the bars on every corner. What it really needs is the same kind of pedestrian activity that Whyte has now because its streets are always empty. Perhaps the business association needs to see what draws people to Whyte, or what keeps people away from 124 St. I doubt that Vienna's place would scare off anyone.

personally, im not drawn to whyte ave by much, and i usually just go there with friends. what keeps me away from 124st was that a couple years ago, i walked down 2 blocks, and was approached 3 times. two people were selling drugs, and another was trying to fence what i can only assume are stolen goods

they made the portion of jasper ave west of 109 st alot nicer then it was a few years ago, but the area is still riddled with homeless people and people with drug addictions. if they can find a proper way of dealing with those 2 issues, the area in general would look alot nicer.

these people from the community league need to get a grip, if there was never anything brought up about what kind of an establishment the massage parlor is, most people would go about there daily business, shop at the local stores, wander up and down the street, watch the odd gentleman wander in and out of this building, with potentially more than one business in it, and not have a clue what was going on.

There are a lot of common, everyday people that don't know what goes on inside the doors of these studio's, they think that it really is a spa for men, or a massage place.

Do we look any different to kids aged 1 to 5 than any other guy walking down the street? i don't think so, so how would the kids be affected by the massage parlor?

I personally can't see going into a daycare, and thinking i was in a massage parlor, hell i can't even imagine ending up in the wrong building in the first place, but if this is happening, and the daycare doesn't want it, then put a "daycare" sign up on the door.

Plus, maybe some one will want to drop there kid off for an hour or so at the day care, while he gets looked after

I wish Vienna the best in her new business venture, and hope some B I T C H from the community league that hasn't gotten any in 40 years finds something else to whine about.

GRRRR i hate people that think everyone else's business is there business

thanks for reading
