Does anyone else play sports action? I've been playing it for about a month now and I have gotten fucked for at least over $300. It may not sound like a whole lot of money to some but a young guy that is in uni that’s a fuck load of money.

Fucked for at least over $300... Any game that goes into a shootout is considered a loss. One team goes into a shootout; basically the ticket is worthless which is bullshit because a win should be a win regardless of how the team wins.

And since I’m already talking about it here are my today’s pick… Note I only bid on hockey:
New Jersey@New York Rangers – Rangers
Washington@Atlanta – Washington
San Jose@Tampa Bay – San Jose
Columbus@Edmonton – Edmonton
$9 – chance to win $84.24. Any thoughts? Still got about five hours before I go and buy the ticket.

...

from a strictly analytical team versus team point of view I like your picks...

that said, I tend to prefer betting more money on fewer games...

Good luck with your picks:)...

You would be much better off :D using a real sportsbook.
You already play online poker, so its not much different.

I just ran a parlay calculation for the 4 teams you picked on an online site.
The payout with a $9 bet would only be $78.82

BUT AN OT WIN COUNTS AS A WIN

Sports Action is for suckers. Thier rules about ties is ridiculous. They are in place to give the house a massive advantage. Play with a real sportsbook. I use sportsinteraction.com. THey are Canadian friendly and very easy to get money in and out.

Parlays are sucker bets. Never bet a parlay no matter how inticing the payout looks. Singles are the way to go.

you are betting on too many games

at least one of those 5 will go to a shoot out tonight. or someone will pull the big upset (like Phoenix over Pitts a couple of weeks ago)..the only way you make any money on Sports action, is by betting on ties in football.,..or something where the odds are large enough for a decent payout.

Sportsaction is totally skewed in the gov't favour.....as mentioned before, if you want to bet on sports and be given a fighting chance with the odds, find a bookie...perhaps check out some Italian cafes?

Don't bookies require for you to bet more than like $100 or something anything under than is considered "wasting" their time?

OT counts as a win, shoot out doesn't.

I still will use sportsaction but I most liekly bet big on 2-3 teams. I don't think there is a "bookie" near by anyways.

Dont use bookies.. Bookies are illegal and yes I believe the require 100 min bets. Bet with an online sportsbook.. Legal, safe, easy, and convineint. You can make mim bets of $5.. some books take $1 min bets.

Online sports action is option but I don't have a CC nor do I like using my debit card online. I do really like how you can play the single games though...

I use Vanilla pre-paid mastercards for poker.

I play it, but only NFL.
Hey whats the tie thing and winning? whats a "win"

Baseball a tie is considered if one of the team is won by 1 point.

Hockey I guess a tie is if the two games go into a shoot out.

the "tie" is the house advantage

that is a further variable that tilts the bets further in the house's (gov't) favour....

In football a tie is a margin of 3 pts or less. And that is where the money is. If you go with large spread favourites, you can put down $20 a win about $1.50. Find the close games, and you can usually win 3 or 4 to win per game. However, I get extremely pissed off when a game goes to OT (and I'm thinking GREAT - a field goal wins it for me) and some receiver gets wide open for a 60 yd TD (FUCK RIGHT OFF).

I see.

LOL!!! I curse a lot too win games go into a shootout especially when one goes into a shoot out and I manage to win my other games.

It's like a Phil Helmouth melt down at home for me. LOL

Wow, what a joke that day was. Glad I didn't bet on those, instead I went to the casino and walked with two bills :).
