Going to thailand in oct or nov

Just had a talk with my travel agent and was told 980 for return. Was dying to go a yr or so ago but they had problems with the govt. Would any pooner with not much to do like to come along:D? Im wondering if it's gonna be more fun than even montreal?

That's a good price for the ticket, I think I spent more than that and it was over 10 years ago.

I read that Thai Airlines is only running about 50% full on flights into the country so hopefully you have room to spread out on your flight. I'd join you but I'm getting too old and would only slow you down, besides I have family responsibilities right now.

You should probably head straight down to Pattaya because of the beach and also the much cheaper prices than Bangkok. I've heard the bars are almost empty in Pattaya but the booze and the girls have not reduced their prices, but you won't have much competition.

Give us a full report when you get back, you're gonna have a great time...

I too am going to Thailand in Oct for few months. Haven't booked my tickets yet but you seem to have gotten a sweet price. Who is your travel agent?

I'd also be going to Vietnam, Cambodia, Burma.

Awhile back I was thinking of going. Around November. That is a great price.
My agent found me a trip that would take me through Hong Kong, with the exit lane seating available for $1400. But I need the extra legroom, I am BigWhiteGuy and hate long plane trips. There is a good forum about vacationing in Pattaya. It looks like its best to be prepared before you go. Lots of scams and sneaky girls.
I still hope I can make it down though.

You have to be careful and watch your first day there. Right off the plane you will have just taken a painful and long 17-20 hour flight in Coach ( including connections). When you get there your first instinct is to head out one of the 4 red light districts since your mind will be ready for anything but sleep. But that is exactly what you should do-SLEEP.

If you dont there is a chance you will run into exhaustion and literally pass out like I did. I remember I got off the plane, checked in and barely got settled and than off to the massage parlors/ heaven. I almost fainted from exhaustion and whatever or whoever could have taken advantage of me and stolen all my belongings.

So try and take it easy first day, you most likely cant.

I've been to hong kong 2 yrs ago and slepted on the plane. I can sleep almost anywhere ....just take a little melatonin and have something covering my eyes. I'll check in the hotel bringing limited amount of cash with travellers cheques etc. Gonna be a blast :)
