This was also in the North Shore News. It actually pretty much related to the one girl posting on CL who is an 18 year old native indian offering uncovered FS for $150.00. This one ad is giving the whole CL section a bad name.
Yup, this is pretty ridiculous. Now I don't know if I should search CL ads because LE starts to monitor it on a regular basis.
Any advertiser who uses 18 and barely legal etc, (not to mention is just stupid enough to post bbfs) should be avoided at all costs. What do you think the chances are that someone who posts 18 is actually 18 -- slim or none?
Oddly enough, the NVPD says that since they are all at least 16, it is perfectly legal for them to advertise. Since when? And it isn't "perfectly legal" to advertise on CL erotic services if you can't even been looking at the place until you are 18.

Actually there is a lot more to this than just what the North Shore News reported.
While in the car, I listen to a lot of talk shows, particular AM 980. Just today they had a whole segment on a lot of young girls (under aged) who are trading sex, mostly oral sex, for frivolous items such as jeans or purses. They had some female author on who just wrote a book called:"Oral sex- the new good night kiss". She apparently did a fair amount of research and interviews with young 14, 15 and 16 year old girls in Vancouver and said that 46% of the ones interviewed admitted to giving oral sex.
There is a segment right now on Channel 9 - CTV, addressing just that issue. CL ads from underaged girls, claiming to be at least 18.
I'm sure it will all be repeated on the 11:00 P.M. news

Just because CL policy says you have to be 18, it doesn't mean that's legally the case. Company policy comes second to legislation.

True, but when you add in the fact that the highest % of stds reported (who knows how many go unreported) is within the 13-18 year old age group. They also have a higher rate of having unprotected sex, which I suppose all goes hand in hand. Considering this same group of sexually active teens do not get tested (50% say they do, that would normally be after symptoms), again a lotta people carrying their stds from teen sex to club sex. Good news for everyone who enjoys the bbbj by spending time with those 18-19 year old new sps, huh?
Well of course there's lots of misinformation, scams etc. but it was this one ad that captured the attention of the RCMP, which to me is a whole neither level of "bad."
Apparently she's 16 and an underage 16 year old offering unprotected intercourse has captured their attention. There's also a bunch of "19 year olds" that recently started advertising on the North Shore, and accounting to the NS news, they or someone similar to them are supposedly underage and are being pimped.

I am in Kelowna right now and the news here was telling a story about a mom I think in maple ridge who found her daughter(underage) was selling herself under the escort and gigs section...it then went on to talk about the north shore...

If you want to assure potential clients that you are of legal age, you could set up an advertisement with Eros. Some escorts don't advertise their real ages- some say younger, some even say older (I was 19 when I started, but sometimes I wish I had said I was in my 20s because I encountered a lot of stereotypes about youth and it was quite frustrating at times).
Anyway, yes, there are definitely those who start at 18 or 19, so I'm sure you will have lots of fun
