Better scan for spyware and viruses...sounds like you may have something.

I hope it is Mozilla Firefox and NOT Monzilla Firefox.

No, no, no, you're all wrong.

Use Lynx, it's the only browser that is completely secure:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lynx_(web_browser)

Or better yet Notepad:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Notepad

IE is no better or worse that Firefox when it comes to security. They have both had their security problems over the years.

At work, I always use IE. At home I always use Firefox.
They each have their place.

Now that I've gotten my bad jokes and tangents out of the way:
I have never heard of the problem that SD is having. I tried a little searching and can find nothing on it.
SD - If you can't stop it, just uninstall Firefox and re-install it. Shouldn't be a big deal.

Since you are new to Firefox, if you haven't got it already, get the Adblock Plus add-on. I love surfing the net with most ads blocked. It's a much better quality Internet.

TC

P.S. - Yes, I actually used the Lynx browser way-back-when. Scary huh?

As a computer tech, I can't believe what I just read. Mozilla Firefox sucks. You can just build a product on performance. You have to make sure it's stable and all the security features have to be there. Use IE instead. Less buggy!!
You're a terrible computer tech then. I have a laundry list of complaints regarding IE, it's really a terrible piece of software, though IE7 and 8 have improved it considerably.

spicdick, I'd also recommend uninstalling and redownloading/installing FF. Sounds like an odd bug to encounter but it happens. I'd also second the Adblock Plus recommendation. I also like to add DownThemAll for downloading many files, Distrust, if it's a shared computer (good for covering your tracks, though it can make FF a bit more crashy), and Flashblock, to keep annoying Flash banners and videos from autoloading. Download Statusbar is also a nice add-on for keeping a more minimal look. Go to http://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/ and look around, there are tons more add-ons for Firefox that can make it do just about anything. If it's still not to your liking, Google Chrome, Opera, and to a lesser extent, Safari for Windows are all good alternatives.
