Hi all,

I am going to Cuba (Varadero) at the end of this month and I would like some intel (phone numbers and names) that I can find some real HOT gals, or where can I meet these beautiful gals in the Varadero area?
Any information would greatly be appreciated.

Varadero is strongly enforced as a tourist only area. If you go to the big discos the local pimps will hook you up. The girls are lame, expensive and you risk getting robbed or worse.

Get into Havana for a night and go to the clubs. If you're not a complete hideous beast you will have the pick of the bunch. Remember only Euros or even Canadian dollars, NO US dollars unless you want to pay the 10% penalty to convert to pesos and who wants those?

I guess it's either I need to make my trip to Havana or go to clubs in Havana at night while staying in Varadero, however I wonder how safe it is to go to night clubs in Havana and then commute back to Varadero, I understand that it's a way between Havana and Varadero...

Cuba

Havana is excellent and so is Santiago de Cuba at the other end of the island. I am referring here to architecture, history, scenery and culture rather than sex. I don't know anything about the sex in either city.

I have no idea why anybody would bother flying to Cuba and then stay at Varadero. There are probably cheaper and better resorts closer to home.

Some years ago I spent a week in Havana and 3 weeks traveling the island.

thanks for the tips, my main purposes to Cuba is still to see the architecture, history and culture. If Sex is there, I won't refuse...it would be a bonus.

If that's the case, why go to Varadero in the first place ? Stay in Havana at one of the B & B's. Best way to get into the culture, and if you hit it right somebody in the family will be able to show you the history and architecture.

I will be taking the opportunity to head to Havana also.
The reason that I would like to go to Varadero is I love the beach.
ALso one of the reasons is that I want to go to Cuba before the US citizens flooding to the area.

Maybe I should think about Domincan Republic instead of Cuba?

There are lots of good beaches around Cuba. Check out Trinidad and the Playa Ancon for one.

As for hitchhikers, everyone does that because of the shortage of transportation so don't make any assumptions about the good looking woman on the side of the road.

The Dominican Republic will remain poor and crime ridden indefinitely but your opportunity to see Cuba as it is now may not last long. I would vote for Cuba.

Thanks for the recommendation of Cuba, that's true, there is probably a short window to see Cuba as it is now until there is some sort of agreement between Cuba and US, it's over....just another Mexico

I hope Cuba will not become Mexico. In Cuba there is good health care, education and the rule of law (however flawed those laws may be). I hope that those things will survive the American onslaught.

I suspect Cubans have tolerated the poverty, isolation and political abuse because they know how much better off they are than most of the people in other central and south American countries that have suffered from ignorance, worse poverty, no health care, death squads and US interference.

I guess we willl have to enjoy as much as we can while it lasts....I just hope that Cuba will be able to keep it's uniqueness... they are still driving the old model vehicles...very European look
