hello all,
i am surprise to have not find a thread about the possibilities of
service providers going to increase their rates because of the OLYMPIC.
Like most of you know , you can see lots of advertise everywhere
and to show you an exemple about a simple condo per month ( reg value 1500$ ) now 5500$ OLYMPIC rates lol Crazy .
independent or agency using hotel

going to face rates room 400$ 2 stars to 1500$ 4 stars per night

( if availabilities lol )
crazy

month of january 2010 to april 2010
Personally I was thinking of raising my rates for the games but offering my regular rates to anyone with a BC license.
Now here is a SMART woman!
My prediction is that the SPs will all over-price themselves in the time frame surrounding the olympics. Some will do well, others will find their phones not ringing.
I agree with you here IG.
Then the first of March will roll around and we'll see some panic as some of the girls realize that they can't pay their rent. Some students and others will no doubt hear about the crazy rates being asked and will decide to go into the business. Supply will be through the roof.
Some more salient points IG!
Demand will be down because clients will either be broke from paying the higher costs or will have switched to lower cost alternatives.
So, supply will go way up, demand will be way down, and...
Actually I think you missed the mark on this one IG.
The majority of folks coming to our debauched city will not be those with financial problems.
That is not to say that some will not be feeling the pinch of this current economy.
We here, because of the Olympics, are not feeling the true economy that the rest of the world is.
Rest assured when all those construction workers leave this city at the end of this year there will be many SP's wondering where their bread & butter has gone.
As for when the world converges on us, we will see foreigners looking to party until March 21.
There will be a thread on here where some people are saying that with supply up and demand down, prices should come down to below what they were before the olympics.
Any SPs posting on the thread will completely ignore the laws of supply and demand and will somehow try to justify prices actually ending up higher than they were before the Olympics. The thread will rage on for a couple of weeks.
Wow, your powers of perception are amazing & your predictions have a Nostradamus quality to them.
Eventually there will be a new thread talking about BBBJ or BBFS to catch everyone's attention and the prices thread will fade off into history only to come back again the next time anyone says anything about prices being too high.
Gee - you really think it will rear it's ugly head again?
If costs are higher, prices will be higher, or the sps will simply take a vacation during that time lol.
Take a break during the Olympics eh?
Somehow I don't think so.
Many of the advertisers here have been raising their rates lately, probably due to higher costs out there for rooms, etc. If costs for rooms, or other considerations are that much higher during the olympics, it is only natural to assume higher rates.
Funny how everyone else (hotels, restaurants, retailers, apts, etc) are assumed okay to raise up or have insanely higher rates during this time, but sps are considered foolish if they do it as well. It's a business, just like any of the others mentioned, and an sp would be crazy not to take advantage of the fact that this biz is legal here and not in many other countries, so therefore a lot more people are going to want to take advantage of their opportunities to see escorts.
Just a note here, selling sexual services is not completely "legal".
More like the laws are not enforced here, thus the trade is relatively worry free.
I think the gals - especially a gal like you, should raise your rates to triple what they are now - cuz heaven knows the world class talent we have here is worth every penny!
- especially a gal like you FO.
World class STELLAR service!
but tourists are not majors regulars clients for us living in vancouver

so this thread give us an idea
about what the local client think about all this. I run an agency, and raise rates can be very brutal

for the
after EVENT
.
Hmm...
the
"after" event eh?
Well I wonder how many of our SP's have actually given any thought to that?
What happens after Mach 2010 when all the money in the city dries up & Vancouver begins to feel the FULL weight of this economic recession?
There's been lot's of denial here about the economy that the rest of our country has certainly been feeling for over half a year now.
Hell, our Government has even decided to toy with implementing reduced work weeks to reduce spending from the government coffers:

This should be interesting as we head into the final days before the Big event.
