it was way more then just Mitchell tonight. They sat on their asses trying to protect a 1 goal lead for two periods. They deserve the final outcome. They have done this too many times and have to learn to finish a game by continuing to score goals to win a game. You may have just watched the momentum shift to Chicago's benefit.

Willie Mitchell cost them on both goals. Bad clearing attempt and then shit coverage down low. He sucks donkey balls and should be benched. The Moose have better D-men than that Fucking pylon.
Sundin was very quiet again tonight.
While agree that Willie wasn't at his best on both plays, I wouldn't be so hard on the guy. Willie has consistently been one of our most reliable defencemen this season. This guy is a warrior. He kills penalties, blocks shots, and defends well with his long reach.

He was +29 in the regular season so he's far from being a "pylon".

Hopefully the team bounces back with a better effort on Saturday.

Yeah, the unfortunate thing is that as a whole they were actually playing really well defensively... But they were playing well defensively at the expense of generating some offense, and you simply can't afford to do that when you've only got a 1 goal lead.

After they scored their goal they played the trap and most of the time only sent in only one forechecker, which worked well until they made the one mistake in their own zone.
Yup. Which is exactly the problem with doing that when you've only got a 1 goal lead. At that point it only takes 1 mistake for them to tie it up.

It's a loss but no where like the game 2 loss.

I didn't think they sat back per se but rather just didn't push the issue. They had good control of most the game and dictated the play. But all they have to do is actually try to score instead of being 100% passive. Waiting too long for an opportunity.

Mitchell, sure he could've played it different but by no means does it make him a bad D. He's awesome. When we first signed him I thought WTF, but soon, you can see the guy is an awesome dman. Really really good with his stick, smart positionally.

You're so conditioned that the safe play is up the boards and what he did was just a result of that. You're thinking safe play safe play safe play and he whacked the puck immediately. Unfortunately that time, it was the wrong play.

I definitely don't feel too worried going into game 5. It feels like we've pretty much have them figured out.
