I feel like buying a new toy for myself. I have a Braun 3 series the 370 model and its ok, 5 oclock shawdow comes around 3pm or so. Braun is built damm good compared to made in China remington.

So is this worth a 225 bucks?

I have one - not because I'm rich, but because I have sensitive skin and stubble like steel wool. I definitely don't regret spending the money. It gives a close, fast, comfortable shave and is especially good at shaving the awkward areas around the neck. It's not as close a shave as a blade, but it's definitely the best shave I've gotten from an electric razor.

The unit requires the continued purchase of cleaning solution, so that's an added expense (but not overly expensive either).

I use the Braun series 5, the 360 model and it does a phenomenal job of shaving my face. With almost any other razor or electric shaver I usually have a 5 o'clock shadow by noon. With the 360 I'm good until ...well 5 o'clock . But I only use it when I am in a rush and have only 2 or 3 minutes to shave.

That isn't really the BMW of shavers. This is:

DE Razors are far superior and give a much better shave*. Badger hair brush, decent cream. Mmm. Smooth for 2 days. Not to mention it costs $15/year.

That's the razor I use when I am not in a hurry and it'll give me a far smoother shave than my Braun 360. Well worth the money.

*I have a strange amount of experience shaving mens beards. I had a client who got off on me shaving him. I learned with a DE razor and eventually moved up to a straight razor.

Looks like a merkur hd model, good handle around $50??
