Can anyone recommend anyone, preferably orientally trained, for me to see when my regular guy goes away?

I am in need of someone who uses massage to manipulate bones and can work on scar tissue. I do not need someone who massages relaxing massages, nor an RMT, nor a chiropractor. I need someone who can work on like 1inch of scar tissue for 15 minutes and uses oriental techniques to gently move my spine and sacrum back into alignment.

This is both not for relaxation and not simply a request for someone who does hard massage. I have a specific injury and while my muscles are sore that is just a symptom.

Prefer locations accessible by skytrain or B-Line

There's an asian chiropractor on 4th who sounds like what you're looking for. "Chiropractic on 4th" is the name of the place. Yep, he's a licenced chiro but he does do the specific type of massage you're looking for and does it very well.

One of the asian massagers asks if you want hard massage or not, and has the ceiling rungs for back walking. I just cannot find or remember the name or review (& my search function doesn't seem to want to work  ). And I think she has the Chinese massage training you are referring to and is downtown.

Myofascial Release

If you have not yet tried Myofascial Release, I suggest you do. In my experience, altho it is treatment on the soft tissue, it also helps very much in bone and joint alignment because of the therapists very deep, slow, deliberate movements in small areas at a time. Muscles keep joints and bones in place. So it makes sense that by keeping your muscles healthy and strong you are helping to keep your bones in place.

You have to try it to know exactly what it's like. :)

From http://www.holisticjunction.com/categories/HAD/myofascial-release.html

"Derived from the the Latin words "myo" - meaning muscle, and "fascia" - for band; myofascial release therapy releases tension from the fibrous bands of connecting tissue (fascia). Myofascial release therapy aims to free constrictions or blockages in the fascia, thereby alleviating problems with connective tissue scarring or injury.

Myofascial release therapy helps individuals with poor posture, physical injury, illness and emotional stress. By using myofascial release therapy, disruptions of the fascial network are freed and tension on bones, muscles, joints and nerves is relieved. Ultimately, myofascial release restores complete balance back to the body."

From http://www.myofascial-release.com/pracwho.html

"Back strain, chronic back pain, low back pain, thoracic back pain.
Persistent, recurrent back pain can cause or be the result of asymmetrical soft tissue tension that does not respond to active stretching by the patient. Active myofascial trigger points can be the stimuli for continued muscle spasm. The pain–spasm cycle further distorts the patient’s posture and causes additional soft tissue injury. Using Focused Myofascial Stretching, the physical therapist can neutralize the trigger points and equalize the soft tissue tension, decreasing the postural asymmetries."

and

"Scars and scar tissue.
Scars that are not freely mobile can become a pain focus when the patient’s postural adaptation to that tightness and restricted motion is disrupted. Active Myofascial Trigger Points can appear in the scar tissue at any time and cause a unique pain radiation pattern. Using Myofascial Release, the scar adhesions can be broken, restoring free motion of the previously restricted body segment. As the patient adjusts to this unfamiliar posture, new pain may appear. This pain is easily and quickly resolved. As scar adhesions are released, the visible scar may become less prominent and defined."
