I have two rather large pieces on the go, both outlined, shaded and some colour done. Both artists that are doing the two pieces have moved on (it's amazing how nomadic artists that don't own a shop are).
Now you would think, go to another tattoo artist to finish the pieces right? Wrong. Good tattooists have a code, that you don't touch somebody else's work, unless it is a full cover-up. Somebody else's work???
It is now on my body, I paid for the design, it is now MY WORK
When you have pieces the size of mine, with so much black work, a cover up isn't possible. Now, lucky for me, I did find someone who has worked on me before who is willing to complete the work. For anyone else that is planning a large piece that will take several sessions to complete, my advice is to pay the extra money and stick with the owner(s) of the shop. Otherwise, you may get stuck with a lot of unfinished work!
