Some background.

I had booked an appointment for a session with one of the visiting providers who was due to arrive in town today. I had sent an email the morning of the day of the appointment to ask for the location and the reply late in the morning was that I would be receiving the location information in 15 minutes. By 4:00pm after not receiving any more communications, I asked again. Then I was told that the provider missed her flight and she would not be available. Since the flight was from out east, I knew that if she had missed her flight, they should have known very early in the day and should've cancelled my appointment by the time of my first email, but I didn't think anything of it at the time.

After I got home, I checked the agency's online booking calendar to see if I could re-book for another time, but noticed that in the place of my appointment there was another one there but for a longer duration. So I sent this ...

"When I go to the calendar, it looks like my appointment has been removed and someone else's appointment for 90 minutes has been put there in it's place. Given your message to me regarding xxxx missing her flight, there should be no change to my appointment in the calendar. Please explain this change.

I do not want to accuse you of lying about her travel problems but if I find out that you have lied so that she can take an alternate appointment I will most certainly post my comments about it on all of the forums where you advertise."


Incredulously, this is the agency's reply...

"ok xxxxx, with all due respect.................
Let me get this straight with you and you not going to like i guess.
i works since year to provide the best custumers service possible to all my custumers.

i guess you have never use my service ( because you think this ) and i invite you to bring your business somewhere else like you was doing before.
YOU are not welcome to use my service anymore, i just say to you thank you but i going to pass because you accuse me of lying, and most important
you threatening me to USE THE REVIEW BOARD EVERYWHERE to trash me or comment about this issue. ( first there is no issue the girls is not there ) thats it.

i going to inform all mod team about your email you have send to me .

"Let's get things straight. I was not blackmailing you into doing anything. I merely asked you to honour the appointment that I had made and that you had confirmed. How is asking you why my appointment was no longer showing considered blackmail?!

I had asked you why my appointment was no longer in the calendar and you have yet to respond to that inquiry. My message had no implications asking for "free" anything or to force anyone to do anything they did not want to do. I was merely informing you that should you choose to provide poor or selective services to those of us in Calgary, that I would be informing the community members of your actions.

Do not worry about informing the mods, I will promptly post my email and your response on the boards. The mods and board members can decide for themselves how good your service is. The boards are for reviews and this includes reviews of the agencies that provide the booking services. I will let my post stand on it's own merit and the board members are free to take it or leave it (or even argue with it).

My original answer to your email informing me of the "flight problem" in it's entirety was...

"That's ok, things happen when one travels.

I don't have access to your booking calendar right now, does she have any availability on xxxxx evening? Could I re-schedule my appointment for that night instead?"


which was sent to you around 5:00pm. About 8:00pm, when I got home and after having received no reply, I logged onto your booking calendar and saw that my appointment had been replaced. That was when I sent the message asking you to "Please explain this change" as stated in the posting.

How dare you accuse me of blackmail and extorting favors when all I've done is ask for an explaination? I didn't even ask for a re-booking by the time I sent the message asking for the explaination.

Up to this point, all you've done is throw around accusations and ban me from your "service" and suggest that I get banned on the boards. Apparently your version of customer service is not to be questioned and cannot be put under scrutiny. The fact that you've only commented here and did not try to reply to my question through email shows that you are only interested in the PR aspect of this issue. If that's your version of "best custumers service" then I'd hate to book when you're having a bad day. THAT is why I am posting this on the board, so that others will know what to expect.

That is how I see it, you just had a bad day yesterday West, what with the Anika situation and then Jenny missing a flight, some other SP slinging mud....accusations were flying. :eek:

I think you did your best with the problems you had. Just alot of misunderstandings, which isn't surprising considering most communication is done over the phone or on the boards. Personally I don't see anyone being in the wrong, the customers had valid questions and complaints and West had plausible explanations.

Today is a new day, hopefully Jenny made her next flight and Anika doesn't have to kiss any toads. Everything can get back to normal, clients happy, SP's happy and agencies happy.

Can't we all just get along? ;)

Whomever sent you that email has some serious anger issues first of all! LOL! You were merely asking a very relevant question! Something that I would want to know too, if I were in a similar situation. Let's say if I had an appt booked, lets say with my hair dresser and I just so happen to come across info about cancelling my appt and re-booking a more costly one (they probably didn't want you to find) and confronted them about it and they seriously chewed my head off.. I would think firstly, calm down, why do defensive?? And secondly, just answer the damn question. It's pretty simple! I wouldn't go back to that hairdresser (for example)!! I would want others to know too! That was rude, and they obviously feel like a deer in the headlights cause you busted them!!!

Seems to me that they are more concerned about the $$$ then return business! Why put someone else's name in your appt spot... especially on the net, where EVERYONE and their dog has access, seems pretty stupid to me... but what do I know :rolleyes:

I can see how it might have been a misunderstanding, but after reading it all and the anger involved... I will think twice about using that service from now on for sure.

If your appointment is canceled and your time wasted that really sucks and it should be made up to you, you should wait for the agency to do so, if they do not then come post about it.

However this is a review board not a "I have been here for FOUR years have not posted a review but feel I shall bring the board up to use it to my advantage even though I am as usefull as sand in ones penis"

Don't drop the name of a board when it suites you, when you have done nothing to help build the boards reputation you useless douche bag.

Yea you are threatening to blackmail.

Why can I say that? Because unlike you I have posted more reviews in the last 2 months than you have posts in the last fucking FOUR years and have NEVER mentioned the board to a SP or agency if I have a bad/good experience or issue.

I come and post about it, I do not use it as leverage.

Do you want this client? Then you should do what it takes, to make this client happy.

No one is saying you are perfect, but as a business owner and a professional I think an apology is owed to the client in question as he truly wanted to be a customer of the services you provide and you blew him off and did not even give him an explanation. You instead bombarded him with poor grammar insults and were completely defensive AS IF you did something wrong.
Regardless of what industry you are in, this would NOT be acceptable in ANY industry and would definately get complaints from any customer wanting service.
I do not know if you have spoken to this client in private but all I can see from this thread is "you, you, you" and nothing about apologizing to the client.
I seldom do private calls but when I screw up my bookings I apologize profusely and even go out of my way to rectify the situation. As you can see, a few potential clients are already put off by ONE customer so it really pays with the advice "treat every client as if it's your last".

I have never asked for anything other than an explaination. I do not want anything else from West nor will I do business with his agency again.

I do not know if you have spoken to this client in private but all I can see from this thread is "you, you, you" and nothing about apologizing to the client.
No, I have not heard from West outside of these postings. All I see are his attempts at PR damage control. I hold no more hope of getting an honest apology from West than I have of getting a billion dollar "bailout" from the U.S. Treasury. :rolleyes:

Whomever replied to your email regarding your missing appointment seriously did not want a bad review! But in all do respect it only takes a minute to pick up a phone! Why even Bother go thru the drama of that.
Now others know leave it at that. and you have recieved some 411. Lesson learned and now you will know that that wasnt the place or the girl for you! There are plenty of beautiful fish in the sea! Keep fishing!!!! :p
