The female condom

Alright, here is the story. I am meeting up with a girl this weekend, and there is a very good possibility that we will be having sex. The last time I saw her, I was having problems with my condom slipping off, so this weekend we thought we would try using a female condom. From what I gathered, she has never used one before, so I thought I would get some opinions on it from the ladies and gents on this board here.

Obviously, the first question would be has any of the ladies here ever used one, and have any of the gents here been with a lady that has used one?

And second, how does it feel for both the guy and girl during intercourse?

They are awesome. Very light, you can feel each other as if there were nothing there, however, it can be difficult to insert the first time. Some women prefer to do it alone and sometimes couples find it fun to do together.

The package comes with instructions. She needs to squeeze the inner ring until it looks like a figure 8 and then slide it into the vagina pushing the bottom edge of the ring toward the bottom of her cervix. This is tricky because the sheath is lubricated and therefore slippery.

Once it is pushed in she can begin to tuck the top of the ring in to fit over the top of her cervix. Then she should insert her fingers into the sheath and feel around the edges to ensure the ring is sitting snugly, otherwise it can pinch if it's not flush with the cervix. The sheath will hang out of the vagina, looking like a deflated balloon, and that is the only drawback: it looks dorky. When the penis enters it takes up the slack.

Remember, the cervix sits on a slant, the bottom is further in and the top is tilted out. Check out the diagram on the insert of the package. Make sure you use lubricant; they provide small samples with the product.

Upon researching this product I discovered it has a big following with gay men. If the inner ring is removed it can be tucked into the rectal passage. This protects not only against STD's but, also protects the thin tissue of the rectal passage. With both the vagina and the rectum lined with a fem condom a man can do the ole 'double dip' without worry of transferring bacteria from the rectum to the vagina. I've been told that if the condom slips inside the rectum it will come out with the next movement, or with a douche of warm water. (this is anecdotal! no research to back that statement up!)

The best thing about this condom is that it can be inserted well before intimacy, and you don't need to change it until the end of the session, so although it's initial cost may seem high, you are using one female condom to a ratio of 3 to 4 male condoms depending on your mileage.

Enjoy your evening!

It is VERY easy to accidentally go in without being covered when using the female condom. The reason is because this condom is loose and the opening sits outside the female. If you are used to it then there is no problem but it is difficult to learn to use one properly without mishaps. A better idea is to go get a cock ring. You can get really thin ones that will not interfere with the length of / how much of your penis enters her or you can get ones with fancy nubs or vibrators for her pleasure too. For basic sex though I recommend just a basic thin cock ring. Slide it over the condom all the way to the base of the penis and you're good to go.

I have to use polyeurothane condoms because I am allergic to latex. As they are not as stretchy they are made a bit on the large side so that someone who IS large can use them. For guys that have a thinner girth (basically an average or below average guy) they can slip off and the cock ring trick works great. Most sex stores will have 3-packs for $8 like these ones:

Polyeurothane condoms (both the male version and the female one you are asking about) are less stretchy than latex and also are thinner. Polyeurothane transfers heat, something that latex does not. Because they are not as stretchy they are a different sensation and some men find them distracting at first and as a result actually last longer! But once you are used to them you will probably enjoy sex more because they do transfer heat. Female condoms can be extra distracting because you will be able to hear it crinkling kind of like a plastic bag (as that is essentially what it is). A boyfriend and I tried using the female condoms but we couldn't stop laughing at the crinkling noise no matter how many times we tried but lots of couples use them and prefer them.

If you are thinking of using these NOT because she is allergic to latex (you didn't mention it if was a latex or a polyeurothane condom that is slipping off but I assume polyeurothane as this is a common problem with them) you can use the cock ring trick on latex condoms also or you can buy a size small.

Mimi's instructions are absolutely right on btw, obviously an experienced user ;) It definitely is good for pre-planned public sex (having it in already and then oops I slipped under your dress!) heh and for double-dipping. As for the cost, FYI the male version of a polyeurothane condom costs the same. The only difference is the female condom is usually sold solo and the male one is sold in packs of 5 for around $17.

Hope this helps!

Or at least that's what a client remarked. I've tried them twice for the entertainment factor and both times, big thumbs down. There's also no sexy way of fitting them in so unless your civilian pal enjoys putting on a show  i'd advise against them. On the plus side, better coverage against genital skin to skin contact.

Fyi, too much slobber or lube around the base of your cock can cause slippage with conventional condoms. Make sure the area is dry before the hat goes on.

OOPs! yes, the 'swishy' sound...I forgot about that. I found it went away with extra lube. Indian prostitutes (in India) are crazy about these things and they seem to love the swish sound and so do the clients. But, I agree, the swish is distracting. Also, the lube pools at the bottom inside you so I like to flip over to CG (every 3 min like a good steak!).

I put it in before I see a client, I fold the end together and tuck it inside, then pull it back out discreetly when it's time to mount. Slide the hand down and form a V with the fingers to guide the cock into the centre so it doesn't slip down beside by accident. Sometimes the client doesn't know it's there.

My clients are quite a bit older gents, and it isn't so easy for them to wear a condom as they are getting a little soft, so these have been a life saver and I sure don't get complaints, but, I can see a younger crowd having issues. They really are ugly, and they frame the opening of the pussy in a very unbecoming way!

In one couples review they talked about putting it on his penis and inserting it that way, but, I don't see how that's possible. If your comfortable with each others bodies you should have a laugh figuring it out!

A girlfriend and I went to Shopper's. I wanted to get one for a client I have tomorrow but unfortunately they don't have them, and the pharmacist said she's never seen a female condom nor did she know what I was talking about. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Too bad for the mixed reviews. Otherwise, seems like this would also be a good solution for duo sessions, instead of condom switching. No need to worry about STD transmissions between the SPs.

My experiences have always been good, but, I have read other bad reviews on them, mostly centred around the difficulty in getting them in. But, some woman wrote in the female condom review board that her husband had a 10 inch cock and he ploughed through the end of it and now she was pregnant, however, I couldn't fathom that happening. He would've been pounding her cervix right into her uterus.
