This guy at work tells me he has to smoke pot daily or he is all nerves and full of anger. I really feel like telling him he's a loser but waiting for his next outburst at work.

Anyone else have to deal with a pothead or a drunk at work?

Can't stand these people, not to mention they are always asking to borrow money.

Anyone else have to deal with a pothead or a drunk at work?

Pot is a drug and its more hazardous to your lungs than cigarettes. I know a couple that spend 50 bucks a day on that shit. He is a loser welfare bum who stays in his pajamas until late in the afternoon. Pure trailer trash.

I have to deal with them sometimes, but they don't bother me to the extent that I would call them losers. I will say though, that I have found that generally they do know how to spell.:D

Pot is only more harmful to your lungs if you SMOKE it. I know quite a few people that have it as tea, or make 'special' brownies. Or if you want to spend a couple hundred bucks, you can get a vaporizer, which turns the THC into a gaseous form, and leaves the crap behind.

Pot is a drug, and just like any other drug out there (legal, and otherwise), some people can handle daily use and still function, and others can't. There is this guy who I used to be best friends with. The reason why I say 'used to' is because about 14 years ago he switched from being an alcoholic to a pothead. As he continued to use, his entire life started centering around smoking weed, and he would spend nearly all his disability money on it and end up borrowing just so he could get his fix. His motivation and personal hygiene started to suffer, as his relationship with his now ex-girlfriend. Even though I, and our mutual friends used at that time, tried to help him get out of his rut, (we switched from regular to occasional use by this time), he resisted, and we all gradually cut him from our lives. Last I heard, he had moved to Alberta to start life anew and was doing good for a while, but he eventually got back into his old habit. None of us have spoken to him in years.

As for me, I still use, but only as a special treat to myself and only with certain people under certain conditions.

There are exceptions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First off......I AM A MEDICAL MARIJUANNA USER!!!!!!

All I can say is THANK GOD for it. I have been suffering from migrane headaches EVERYDAY for the past 14 years. I got into a car accident and been suffering from them ever since.

I suffer the most on full moons and that time of the month. I am supposed to be on disability because I am considered unemployable.
I was born with an enlarged liver and therefore have to be careful as to what painkillers I can take. I also have a very sensitive stomach which causes me massive pain if the pain killer contains ASA. So right off the hop....I am limited on medication.
Up until 3 years ago, I was on 28 different pills a day that i took. Nothing helped and my family had to practically tiptoe around me. My house looks like a dungeon cause all the windows are blacked out. I try to stay inside as much as I possibly could. Yeah it really sucks living this way.
I had a tragedy and found myself smoking a joint for the first time in over 15 years.
My headache disappeared within half hour of smoking it. I couldnt believe it. It doesnt really get rid of it but masks the pain. Its like a woman in labor that gets that epideral....its such a sigh of relief that washes over you.
Now I am able to function half decently. I can go outside now and enjoy picnics and other outdoor functions with my kids.
Pot is my lifesaver.

Yes, it is bad for your lungs. And that is why my nerologist perscribes this drug called Sytevix...which is the inhaled form of THC. But the problem with that is that this drug is $600 a week. Compared to smoking it which is only $200 a week.

Am I broke? NO!!! I never borrow money. I am the one that ppl ask to borrow money. And I have five kids. NOT EVERYONE THAT SMOKES POT IS A LOSER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My two cents worth.

love and laughs

Like anything, liquor, gambling, drug use, woman etc, it's all about moderation. I'm in my mid-50's, a senior executive and have been for most of my working career. I enjoy a bowl or 2 most if not everyday. Pot to me in no different that a glass of wine with dinner. Ando for me it's never been a gateway drug. I don't go to work stoned (i also don't go to work drunk) and chances are if I was in the company of anyone, they wouldn't have a clue that i was stoned unless I told them so. Saying that there are times much like with drinking wine that i might embibe a little too much. But no harm no foul.

Obvioulsy there are those who have trouble with the moderation thing..but not me:D

Most pot smokers can afford to get their own weed.

I've never asked anyone for money for anything. Weed has nothing to do with it.

Not to mention some don't even need to pay for it...it's a lil thing called growing your own.

That's what I was thinking, I know a buddy that smokes pretty much everyday, at least 2-3 joints, goes through an ounce every 2 weeks. Winds up costing him about $12 a day. About the same as a fairly heavy cigarette smoker would spend.
Hell I spend more than $12 by not packing my own lunch to work, and I am far from begging people for cash.

Thank you April, you’re always an inspiration for me. :)

I am addicted to pot and smoke it everyday. I was hooked on to it when I was 8 years old by much older kids who found it amusing to make me drop acid and all kinds of other drugs. My step dad didn’t hide his bag very well and I was very adept at pinching without causing paranoia. I smoked pot all through junior high and high school. I did pretty well; A’s in matriculation and was the class president. Captain of the Basketball team, chess club champion and I partied with any crowd.
I’ve always thought I fit in anywhere but belong nowhere.

Every job I’ve had has presented opportunity for using drugs, I remember working on a crew of five and the boss would cut each of us a line to get the day started. I was irresponsible as a young man and very lucky to come through that unscathed, but I’ve never lost a job, caused an accident or jeopardized my life with drugs. I have been in many situations where my immunity and affinity for foreign substances has helped me keep my wits and avoid disasters.

I’m a responsible user now, just the daily joint or two. I am successful and secure in my job, involved with my community and active with my daily life.
I have done enough drugs to make two people stupid but it doesn’t seem to affect me.

I imagine being 85, sitting on my porch swing smoking a joint, blasting “Charlotte the harlot” by Iron Maiden and watching the sun go down
with a beautiful woman snuggled in my arms.
And with Viagra my fantasy will be complete, I love drugs! :p

I may be a loser but I’m not such a bad sort. ;)

The only reason pot has any stigma is because it's illegal. Alice Cooper, a former alcoholic, says that liquor is the worst drug because it is so readily available. I saw a Documentary about Marc Emery and they showed a clip of this drug conference between US and Canadian law enforcement. They talk about the "evils" of pot, yet go drink their faces off in the hotel bar after the conference.

Any person impaired can be annoying and it's always best that they work sober and don't get so high/drunk that they can't function at work the next day. I've worked plenty of jobs on a variety of jobs. I could function, but looking back on it, it was a mistake most days. All drugs are what you make of them. No two people act and react the same way to their drugs. It's not fair to paint them with a broad brush.

Tianna! Me too! Why are drugs so strong today? Why is it important to pass out? What happened to having fun eating crunchy food (mmmand creamy food) and enjoying the cool sensations and laughing at silly things.

I am just too old! I need 'senior' pot...I told a younger friend that it was better when we smoked the leaf and she went "HUH?" "you smoked the LEAF?" Yeah, that's how old I am, I can remember that.

Actually both are considered acceptable usages.

For the pothead thing... Somebody who needs to smoke pot daily isn't necessarily a loser. It depends on their entire situation. If it's a physical need (as in somebody who would actually be prescribed medicinal marijuana) then that certainly doesn't make them losers. If it's a psychological need, then there's a good chance that they're losers, but even then it's definitely not a sure thing.

Oh, and for the "worse for your lungs than cigarettes" line: that's true in equal quantities. If you take the amount that an average cigarette smoker smokes in a day, and you compare it to the amount that an average weed smoker smokes in a day, the average cigarette smoker will be doing more damage to his lungs. Now if you're a pot smoker who's smoking the equivalent of 2 packs of cigarettes a day... your lungs are really gonna be hurting.

One joint has the same amount of tar as 10 cigarettes

Badda Bing, Badda Boom is the way that I know it ;)

Weed today is crazy strong. I have no idea how people can smoke it all day every day, regardless of building up a tolerance. In the early 80's grass was so mellowing and nice to get a buzz from. Today it fucks you up something fierce. I've smoked up twice in the last 15 years, both times reminding me why I don't do it anymore.
