I have Telus Pay and Talk. My pre paid package is better then their post paid rates
Rogers, I could care less for IMHOrogers hands down. The only problem i have with rogers is though when im out of the city(cabin) reception is awful if theres any reception to begin with. But inside the city its definitely the best for reception, texts, emails and data. I dont think telus offers 3G or any type of highspeed data.
Another benefit to Rogers is that it has a sim chip - so you can switch it out for a local card when you are travelling
is FIDO an option? they are part of the ROGERS family and have that amazing 17.50 killer EPP plan, it's only available for 8 more days though and you have to sign up for a 3 year contract.
I'm thinking of switching my current prepaid phone to this since i spend more than 25 a month anyways right now on ROGERS/7-11 speakout

yes, unlocked GSM phones and sim cards are a godsend
one of the reasons i won't deal with telus or bell, i hate CDMA phonesanother great thing about rogers is the huge variety of phones. You can pretty much an unlocked GSM phone from anywhere in the world and use it. In japan and see an awesome phone? buy it, germany? Buy it.
Plus rogers is the only carrier in canada right now with the blackberry bold, and that should be enough reason to switch to rogers

Telus almost got hold of me when i saw their pink blackberries, but i quickly came to my senses, I haven't had a telus phone since i was a teenager
rogers or Fido does have that sim card you can use it interchangeablyso you can use it where you are
Don't sign a long term contract, try not to sign one at all.
The reason is there will be new entrants coming early next year (from the wireless spectrum auction), and so they will have to beat rogers, fido, telus and bell to get any business. So you should expect cheaper deals when the new companies come in (Shaw, Dave to name a few).
btw, both Rogers and Fido have name display, so your name (the one that you sign up with) is displayed each time you call. And they won't take it off. You can only block your call, but that also blocks your number. So keep this in mind.
