hi VV,So the little shit Aaron Hickey is finally having his day in court. Crown has settled on a manslaughter charge which has something to do with him being provoked. I'm guessing she told him to leave & they fought. Then he stabbed her 50 times so that the body was unrecognizable. My heart goes out to Tammy's friends and family whose next round of pain is dealing with an offender-biased justice system & one that looks down its politically correct nose at sex trade workers.

I listened to that CKNW interview with Honey's sister and Brother in law. The details were horrific. I was planning to update the forumners right after the I heard it, but it was really difficult and I have been thinking about it every day.
Tanya (Tammy's sister) describes her as a very caring and generous giving person. She would casually give homeless people a few bucks without asking. As a result, there were men, like this piece of shit Aaron that took advantage of her. Tanya discribed how Tammy had a normal life and only got into the SP business 5 years ago. She had been in a serious car accident with her than fiance. The fiance apparently pulled her out of the wreck and saved her life, but than succumbed to his own injuries in her arms. Following this was a bout of drinking and drugs and than getting into the SP business.
This bastard Aaron came along, at that time he was only 19, and she was 38, and somehow took advantage of her generous nature and was leeching off her. I am not sure how the fight started, but he beat her so badly about the face that he broke her jaw, and nose. Because she was still alive during the initial beating, her face swelled up. After the beating, the stabbing started on the body and also on the face. That was why when the brother in law and the sister when to identify her body, they could not recognise her because it was so badly damaged.
The death penalty is too good for Assholes like that. He should have to go thru what he did to her. Anyway, although I have never met Tammy (talked to her on the phone) this is a sad and undeserved end for a good person. I suppose we will find out more when the trial starts.
You can get life for manslaughter, its all about when you are able to apply for parole.
You can get life for manslaughter, but in Canada the chances of that are practically nil. Realistically, if convicted of manslaughter, I doubt this little prick would get more than about 5 or 6 years (and he gets double credit for any time served prior to the conviction).
99% of the time I'm proud to call myself a Canadian, but every time I hear about yet another hardly-even-a-slap-on-the-wrist sentence for a violent or repeat crime, I'm ashamed to be a Canadian.
I disagree. The guy on the bus was obviously insane and shouldn't be "charged" with anything, just locked up in a nuthouse forever. Aaron Hickey isn't crazy and should be charged with 2nd degree murder.
It's scary to think a clearly insane man can be charged with murder but a wanna-be tough guy gets manslaughter for stabbing somebody 50 times.
I sometimes wonder why I'm a law-abiding person. The Canadian justice system has taught me that I can do whatever I want to whomever I want with impunity.

The Air India bombing was a real head scratcher for me. The facts are the 747 that was destroyed was property of the Indian Govt. via its ownership of Air India. Most of the passengers were Indian nationals. The destruction of the plane happened over international waters. The perpetrators are Indians, most of whom still have their Indian citizenship. But yet the case was tried in BC and not in India? They should have been extradited to India and lets see them complain about their prison accomodations there. We wasted tens of millions of dollars on the trial. The Indian govt. would have done it in 1/10 the time for 1/10 the cost, with 500% higher punishment.
