Fudd: Gun bans don't keep firearms out of the hands of criminals. Only law-abiding citizens by definition abide by laws.

Silky: That's a load of horseshit and has been debunked thoroughly. "Crime Rates" is a pretty broad, ultimately useless stat, and in some cases the banning of firearms is what made crime stats shoot up because all of a sudden thousands of once law-abiding citizens were breaking the law because they possessed firearms when they were legal.

Gun control (or lack thereof) can NOT be applied to every culture with the expectation of similar results. Gun possession is appropriate in the US because of their long association with guns as tools during the pioneering era. Gun possession is less useful in Canada for other reasons...
