Just curious. Do you think you would have an easier time calling an SP who is touring, or if you were planning a trip to her city, if she had a 1-800 number?

I know it can be a pain in the ass because long distance charges show up on your cellular or phone bill. Would a 1-800 be worth it for SP's to get?

I'm thinking of getting one because my cellular provider has a good deal going on for 1-800 numbers, but if it doesn't make a difference, I'll nix the idea.

Hi jenn,

In my opinion only, I personally wouldn't use one for the discretion reason. If I was in sales or whatever and traveled, I would use the method of Perb, her website or text.

If guys can hide the long distance call or they're phones bills were private then it would work for him.
But for me only and not speaking for other guys, I don't think I would use it.

Stay safe Jenn.:)

Jenn, I wouldn't give the idea just yet. Remember, this is my opinion only.

Wait and see what other guys on here have to say on here. I'm sure they're are many guys who travel that might want to use it.

Then again, if the 1-800 deal that you would get is really cheap doesn't burn a hole in your pocket in terms of expense. You can always add it to your website or your ad on here for those who want to use it.

If you can afford it I'm sure it won't hurt, but lets see what other guys say.

:) :)

BTW.....when are you coming to VAN?? I'd love to experience your

" put us to death BBBJ" :D :D

The bill would still show a call to an 800 number on a cell bill.

The 800 number would be useful to guys who call from home or office though as the carges would not show on their bill.

Consider something like Vonage where you can have local numbers from multiple areas. I believe they are called virtual numbers. I don't use Vonage myself, but I know they charge 8 bucks per virtual number (per month).
Interesting. I didn't know you could do that. Thanks for the info. I'll have to look into it.

In my opinion you shouldn't spent a significant amount of extra money obtaining a toll-free line.

For if it were my mission to stealthfully contact you at whatever working phone number you gave, I'd simply go to a convenience store, buy a telephone calling card, and dial from a pay phone, or from most any other phone, as no "record" of the call ever surfaces (except to police investigating any serious crime).

IF that pay phone didn't meet criteria for your safety, then I'd ask YOU to dial me back at whatever number I was at, immediately after I called you from the pay phone. (I think the caller ID wouldn't necessarily say "pay phone" in this case, as the call would be routed through the phone card company)

In brief, I think that men who want your services bad enough won't have any trouble reaching you. (er, well, won't have any trouble making your phone ring... or vibrate, or light up, I mean)

Whether you answer or not is a whole different ball game (er, well, potentially a missed ball game)

Text messages are not individualized on cell phone statements. Once erased, there is no trace of where the text message went.

The text to the SP can include the client's cell number, and her call to him is an anonymous incoming call on his monthly statement.
