David Pratt was dropped by the Province Newspaper because he admitted to plagiarizing. He used a quote from a Rick Reilly (SI) articale printed in 2000.

Pratt's column about Bob Cole wrote "Cole was born 75 years ago, but it's more likely he dropped straight out of Guys and Dolls with a martini in one hand and a puck in the other."

Reilly 8 years ago wrote an article about Al McGuire "They say he was born 72 years ago last Thursday, but don't believe it. McGuire dropped straight out of Guys and Dolls with a martini in one hand and a basketball in the other."

At least Pratt admited to plagiarizing. Now I won't see his silly grin in the Province anymore, hopefully one day soon we won't have to listen to him anymore.

Pratt often uses other people's quotes on the air, as if they were his own thoughts. I guess once you do it in the newspaper, you're hooped! Good to see him getting called out for it.

As for this statement...
this city hasn't had a class act since Jim Robson retired...

Theres not a single class act in town now?

why? because nobody else sends a "special hello to all the shut-ins"??;)
