Ok....I'll take the bait.
The arty jailbait is very inappropriate as it is an image of immature sexuality that isn't even really realixed by kids of that age. Apparently she's just 15, if that is that girl from that Disney show...Why should we accelerate the age of lost innocence? Let her be pretty and girly, not trashy and whorish.
As for the second pic...it's pre-pubescent pop that's forced-fed to our kids that watch too much tv because we can't be bothered to monitor our own children's habits because we're too busy working to feed that consumer powered machine....wow, I think I've been reading too much lately and not watching enough tv...

I saw an interesting interview with some bigwig agent or marketing exec, can't remember which. His take was that the whole uproar was a win/win for everyone.

What really got me was this guys take was that the girl wins in all of this as well because she is now 15 and if she does not start to transform her image from cute & sweet to sexy & desirable by the time she is 18 her days in showbiz are finished. yea that what i heard too but he still exposed her to hollywood at a really young age and no amount of money is worth that. britney spears, lindsey lohan are key examples of people who have had their lives meddled in by hollywood. i suspect mily cyrus will soon be next. its a bummer really..

I'll take the fire for this one but i actually do like the artsy photo (being an art student)
it has nothing to do with her age, or the media or anything. objectively speaking from an artistic point of view the shot is very well composed and balanced. it reminds me of the art the old masters did from the renisannce period. I'm sure if someone painted this hundreds of years ago it would be in a museum!
though i can totally understand why this image is so controversal today. but art has always been controversal though. take for instance this piece
Cupid and his mom Venus getting sexually intimate. wrong on so many levels, but it's a wonderful piece of art.
so i can say that yes i do agree that she is too young to be posing in such a manner, but i can honestly say that the final product is actually quite beautiful.

true there are winners and losers...but its no coin flip.I could name you tons who have turned out great. In life there is gonna be winners and losers...it really is a coin flip. As for Billy Ray, I have no problem with him or his decisions at all... he is a class act and a good man.
