Hi everyone,
I thought I would share this poem with you all. I came across this poem 8 years ago. I post it every year on a couple of forums that I am on. And figured why not do one here. Especially when there are so many SP's that are moms themselves ...myself included.
Everytime I read it and for that matter type it out...it always makes me cry.
It means so much to me and I hope it means alot to the moms out there too.
Sorry if you are not religious.. but i am.

A CHILD'S ANGEL

ONCE UPON A TIME THERE WAS A CHILD READY TO BE BORN. SO ONE DAY HE ASKED GOD:

CHILD: THEY TELL ME YOU ARE SENDING ME TO EARTH TOMORROW BUT HOW AM I GOING TO LIVE THERE BEING SO SMALL AND HELPLESS?

GOD: AMONG THE MANY ANGELS I CHOSE ONE FOR YOU. SHE WILL BE WAITING FOR YOU AND WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU.

CHILD: BUT TELL ME, HERE IN HEAVEN, I DON'T DO ANYTHING ELSE BUT SING AND SMILE, THATS ENOUGH FOR ME TO BE HAPPY.

GOD: YOUR ANGEL WILL SING FOR YOU AND WILL ALSO SMILE FOR YOU EVERY DAY. AND YOU WILL FEEL YOUR ANGEL'S LOVE AND BE HAPPY.

CHILD: AND HOW AM I GOING TO BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND WHEN PEOPLE TALK TO ME, IF I DON'T KNOW THE LANGUAGE THAT MEN TALK?

GOD: YOUR ANGEL WILL TELL YOU THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND SWEET WORDS YOU WILL EVER HEAR, AND WITH MUCH PATIENCE AND CARE, YOUR ANGEL WILL TEACH YOU HOW TO SPEAK.

CHILD: AND WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WHEN I WANT TO TALK TO YOU?

GOD: YOUR ANGEL WILL PLACE YOUR HANDS TOGETHER AND WILL TEACH YOU HOW TO PRAY.

CHILD: I'VE HEARD THAT ON EARTH THERE ARE BAD MEN. WHO WILL PROTECT ME?

GOD: YOUR ANGEL WILL DEFEND YOU EVEN IF IT MEANS RISKING IT'S LIFE.

CHILD: BUT I WILL ALWAYS BE SAD BECAUSE I WILL NOT SEE YOU ANYMORE.

GOD: YOUR ANGEL WILL ALWAYS TALK TO YOU ABOUT ME AND WILL TEACH YOU THE WAY FOR YOU TO COME BACK TO ME, EVEN THOUGH I WILL ALWAYS BE NEXT TO YOU.

AT THAT MOMENT THERE WAS MUCH PEACE IN HEAVEN, BUT VOICES FROM EARTH COULD ALREADY BE HEARD, AND THE CHILD IN A HURRY ASKED SOFTLY:

CHILD: OH GOD, IF I AM ABOUT TO LEAVE NOW, PLEASE TELL ME MY ANGEL'S NAME.

GOD: YOUR ANGEL'S NAME IS OF NO IMPORTANCE. YOU WILL CALL YOUR ANGEL.......MOMMY.

Happy Mothers Day to all you moms out there :)

A child always loves his mother

Even at my age, my love for my mother is never ending.

Happy Mother's Day Mom, rest in peace!

Thanks April

My mother died in January, so this will be my first Mother's Day without her. Your poem hits the mark and makes me breathe deep.
Thanks.

Wow I posted this thinking it would mean more to the moms here. I never expected men to love this poem too.
I have had a few that actually asked me to type out a copy for them.
I guess it touches us all since we all have mothers.

I glad it has moved so many as it has for me for years.

Happy Mothers day for all moms out there who are with us now and those that are always in our hearts.

But of course

moms are important to us all. Even some of us who want to be macho most of the time.

Well its getting to that time again.

Hi everyone.
I posted this poem last year. I got lots of ppl saying how much they loved it.
So I figured for those that had not read it before. And you dont know what to get your mom. Welll give a copy of this poem, of course you need to do it up on the appropriate paper/frame.

Thanks for the reminder, it is just as meaningful if not more each year.

Thanks April.

Sorry about your mom Snowbeard. That's gotta
be tough.

I am reading a book right now about Elvis Presley
and I think it's pretty well known how close he was
with his mother. So the first book is called 'Last
Train to Memphis: The Rise of Elvis Presley'. And
the 2nd book is titled something else ( can't remember
right now):The Fall of Elvis Presley. The first book ends
when his mother died, which was the beginning of the
end for ol' Elvis.

Just felt like sharing that tidbit cause I'm such an Elvis
freak. If anyone is interested in the book the author is
Peter Guralnick. I have read many books about him and this
book puts all of the others to shame. I thought I
knew a lot about him before I started reading it but
I have learned so much. I can't wait to start reading
the 2nd book.

Anyways, I'm starting to ramble. Thanks again, April.
That was sweet of you to post the poem.

Have a nice day.

April,
you and I have talked about our kids when we get together, I am always amazed (shouldn't be) at what a fantastic and caring mom YOU are. Your kids are very lucky!
