I'm so excited to see American Gladiator (tv show)on monday...I couple of my girlfriends think I'm silly, but I love that show. I use to watch it all the time when I was a kid. Is anyone else excited to see it?

OK, OK, I am out of the closet too. Those crazy events with schmos vs. buffed bods has some kind of nutty appeal. Then the eliminator. way too kewl.

I "hated" it as a kid, but only because I was trying to be a "superior geek", but secretly wanted to watch it.
Now, I'm a grown adult, and if it's on when I'm browsing the channels, I really like watching it.
Call it one of those guilty pleasures!

Now that the writer's strike is (I think) over, maybe. Ratings seem to be good, so it's possible.

I'd much rather see that show when the ratings drop and they try to do something extreme to boost the ratings. Like have a show set in the Coliseum. But instead of them climbing like monkeys over water have it a bit pit of real spikes. And have a real eliminator for the main event. The winner lives, the looser would have likely lost a limb or their head.

I was disappointed that the new American Gladiator has very similar games as the old series back in the 90s! The same obstacle course, the same basket-ball type game and same jousting-liking. Feels like nostalgia. i cant believe you people enjoy that show.. its freakin horrible.. i dont even get where they find these people to be on the show, its like they have a time machine to bring back the losers from the the original broadcasts... the ONLY reason this show has lasted so long is because of the writers strike, enjoy it while you can
