True. From a completely superficial point of view (which for me is 1/10th of the equation) shape is more important then muscle mass. I like a trim waist and broad shoulders so you get that triangle affect. Seems to say "I'm a virile male, grrrr...." and awakens some primal instinct in me.
I find the bulging veins and oily orange skin a total turn off.
Smooth skin is also important as is that intelligent sparkle in the eye.
Of course all of that means nothing if the guy is an aimless, dull loser.
That being said my last boyfriend was a model.

At Uni I roomed with a guy who was on the gymnastics team and if you want to see some one with a triagular torso and increadibly fit then he was a classic example. Also, he was an increadibly nice guy to boot. I don't think I ever say him with a girl friend/date who wasn't a total knock-out, but earthy and intellegent as well. Fortunately these girls had friends that were easy on the eyes as well. Hey, roomies should help each other out.

What if you spend a lot of time on yourself but you also do a lot for others? I have a very low metabolism and to stay healthy I need to work out. I can gain weight just by eating one cracker. I guess one less expense for me. I have tons of energy. I hardly ever like to sit down to a big meal unless it is for the company.I do not like overly muscular men...I find them vein to spend so much time on themselves- just like their female equivilents
There is a fine line between confidence and being vein. I think it is better to just be yourself and be happy.

LOL...wealthy and powerful does it for me...but it doesn't hurt to also be in reasonable shape...nothing overly muscular nor too thin.
I would disagree on the wealth part. Women that are 30 and under at least. I was and I am a vice president of a company and that never helped me. If anything it makes it worse as they want your time and not your money. They also don't want you to be too controlling and money tells them you are. Many are independant and are looking for attractive men these days. three of my last girlfriends wanted me to live with them at their house not the other way around. They also wanted me to play by their rules. I had a huge house and that was a complete turn off for them.
Women that are not independant change once they become independant.

Don't get it twisted...lol...I say wealthy because I want a man that has his own and won't have to ask me for money.
I think what hunsperger was referring to is a man's overall social capital, the sum of his status, job, money, prestige, friends, etc. as a function for women choosing one man over another because it makes other women jealous. You're right though, as a woman ages she would probable be more apt to marry someone who is otherwise a loser because he has money, but the same principle still applies. I have more money than most guys I know but still no gf, probably because I am lacking in too many key areas--- but then again why would you want to date a girl who is willing to go out with you just because you have a few more bucks than the next guy?
You are so right about this; not every woman go crazy over money, power( status?) and look. At least not anymore. Most independent women want to be with their equals.
Yes, when I was younger I only went out with men with a lot of money, powerful and good lookings. I did need those kind of people to make me feel good about myself then. Now, I only want go out with soemone who has the personality that match well with mine. Someone with similar interests or has the same goal and equal education back ground will help a lot.
But, this thread is about body type. And my type is skinny guys, even though being skinny alone is not enough, of course.
Woman aren't attracted to money there attracted to ambition. CEO, hockey players , men with power all have one trait in common, ambition. You don't have to be rich or famous to attract sexy woman , you just have to be able to show or tell them 3 good traits about your self.
1. your a leader of men.
2.Pre-selected by woman
3.Protector of your love ones
This is what woman are attracted too.
Here's a thought: Try being the life of the party. And be unpredictable. Be caring and generous. Be exciting.

What do you mean by pre-selected by woman? That woman already find you attractive, thus making them jealous when another woman has you because now they can't? Be a leader of men(IE "the alpha male")? How do you get it? By being the most successful with women and thereby asserting your dominance over other males? If this is true, then maybe this theory is really just a fallacy of cause and effect.
I'm sure we (most men at least..) have all seen "what women find attractive" threads a million times on different boards, and I have noticed that they all eventually go in circles because at the end of the day it is subjective and there is always some people who seem to get rejected no matter what and some guys who seem to get the girl no matter what. Trying to narrow what women find attractive down to a few key characteristics seems ultimately moot. So in perb terms, YMMV.
I have been in really good shape,very lean and muscular,and i will tell you this when i was in good shape women would try to spark up a conversation with me,now that i am not fit as i use to be,i notice i dont get the same attention that i use to get.
