Looking for a good butcher...

Hey everyone!

I'm looking for a place to pick up some quality cuts, as well as the occasional polish or ukraniane sausage... so I'm thinking some kind of European delicatessan.

Anyone know of a good one? I generally snoop around Burnaby or North Vancouver, but New West or Vancouver is good as well. Not really interested in flying to Richmond, Surrey, Maple Ridge or Coquitlam if it can be helped.

When I lived in Whiterock I shopped at Ozark's Family Deli (Peninsula Shopping Centre near Safeway). The people were sweet, the product was premiere and you could ask for any special orders in advance.

I still go there when I visit and if I am staying anywhere in the lower mainland where I can BBQ.

Beefway Meats, 2519 Kingsway @ 33rd. One of the few places that actually butchers their own meat. Personally i don't eat the stuff (man-meat doesn't count) but my pooch sure likes their marrow bones.

Along east hastings between nanimo and renfrew ae lots of ethnic butchers, one I like is Rio meats, but lots others, plus donaldsons, great asian food for take out. Love the bbq duck.

wow... I really like that Polish deli! There was this TOTAL brunette hottie ordering ahead of me. I could've swooned right then and there.

Thankfully, I was brought to by a clerk asking me what I wanted.
