I think the SPs should start implementing some hard fast rules re: latecomers.

Airlines do this - if a person who has booked a seat doesn't show up, that seat is given to someone on standby.

So if a pooner doesn't arrive on time, doesn't bother phone ahead to say he's running late (if you can afford to poon, you can afford a cell phone) and there's a person on standby waiting for the same SP, the standby gets in.

How about a list of no-show names?

I know that it's easy to make up a new name but as regulars, we use the same "studio'' name all the time. The ladies get familiar with us and therefore they can recognize who's making the appointment and how reliable (or unreliable in certain cases) we are about our appointments. Unknowns should be treated to a strict 10-minute late rule and you lose your appointment - unless you phone in and send in your regrets or tell the lady to wait for you. Otherwise, no shows end up on a bad client list. Time to think up of a new handle - too many handles, you end up on a bad client list as well.

I always phone ahead if I'm running late for an appointment and advise the studio (or the lady if I can reach her) if I'll be there by a certain time or they can give my time slot to somebody else. Just common courtesy - - - applies in all other aspects of life as well. I guess common courtesy is too great a concept for some people to understand. . .

Just a suggestion...

I think 5 min rule if no phone call. I would not want to be waiting and get a 45 min session because they waited 10 min first then having to shower.

And it should apply the other way around as well. Our time is just as valuable.
Personally I wait for 20 minutes max and if my booked SP is still busy and I have received no valid explanation, then I'm out of there. If they have so little regard for me in this manor then I can only imagine what the session would be like.

Another pet peeve is when I phone early in the day to make an appointment with an SP and I get one of her co-workers on the phone (who always says she's the receptionist. Yah right!). She takes all the info and says it's all written down, but when I drive across town and arrive on time for my alloted time, there's someone else in the room with my SP. Either that SP has decided to take some walkin or my appointment wasn't written down at all. MY GOD! Is it rocket science? Seems my doctor or dentists office never have this problem.

This happens much too often and in fact twice within the last couple weeks with one certain SP. All it takes is one or two inept or jealous gals to mess up her more popular co-workers appointments to give the whole MP a bad reputation. Look what's currently happening at Legends.

Damn! It looks like Trintrin is so mad he can't even talk straight. LOL.

Seriously, I'm sure this scenerio has happened at one time or another to all of us. My feeling is if an SP wants to reduce the session cost because she is cutting your time, then fine. But don't ask me to pay full price for 30-40 minutes because you don't want to upset the next guy.
On a couple occasions I've had an SP ask me to come back later or some other day because she's so far behind, or her schedule is all messed up, and I've had no problem with that. I appreciate her being honest with me and giving me my full alloted time.

Yeah, I've had that happen too. If you start asking for the name of the lady you're talking that sometimes gets the appointment in the books.

As for being told my session would be shortened due to previous appointments going late, and an appointment after mine, and the lady wanting full session fees, I would have no problem telling my favourites that is unacceptable and that I likely would not be returning because of that.

If she told me the situation and asked me to come back another time. I would be dissappointed that I awas the one she told to return another day and not the next guy, but Yeah, I can respect that.

Tell the client on the phone right away

A good way would be that when the MP takes the appointment they should tell the unknown client right then on the phone that if they are late, they forfeit their appointment (unless they are willing to give a callback number)

I'm sure for any of us hobbyists, in our own businesses, none of us would like waiting around for someone who didn't even leave a callback number.

And yeah, I also hate having to wait when I show up on time for my appointment.

This thread just made me think of something that has never been brought up. We have a huge problem with this one: Lets say a client just walks in, and wants to see Dakota. Our receptionist tells him that she's is session but should be free in about 40min. Then the client says " OK I will come back." Well, in our opinion, this guy is not actually booking an appointment when he says this. Hell, everyone that walks out this door says they are coming back but very few actually do. But what may happen is that the client comes back in 40 minutes thinking he has an appointment booked with Dakota, and in the mean time someone else has phoned and booked with her. Now if the client were to look at his watch and say " Ok I will come back at 3:00 my name is Garry" instead of " I will come back later " he would have a reserved appointment. Poor communication I guess????

Maybe, because you can always say to the guy, "Dakota is available in 40 minutes, would you like to book an appointment?"

I agree with you, Nikita. . .

Hell, everyone that walks out this door says they are coming back but very few actually do. But what may happen is that the client comes back in 40 minutes thinking he has an appointment booked with Dakota, . . .
This is not poor communications - I think assumptions on both sides are NOT the same. Without a name and a definite time, there should be no ''contract" per se between the client and the SP. As wolvie says, the question asked should be "Would you like to book an appointment?" Short of this, the client is taking a chance. . .the SP is free to take any other appointment that calls or walks in in the meantime.
