Just be very careful with any kind of information that has been divulged to you. For if you pass it on, the subject affected will always hear about it at some point in time. If you have been given the privilege of some potentially damaging information be it health, money, etc., you have the responsibility to take it up to the subject affected and close the issue right then and there.

Take for example,
a few years ago a SP told a client I've seen that I had HIV as well as other STI's. I heard about it from the same client a year later. I now know why my summer was a bust business wise. I could've easily spread rumours about her or taken a Louisville Slugger to her face but instead I contacted her and told her what I had found out. I felt better knowing that she now knew that I knew what she was up to. She later chose another subject to damage.
And another example of when I was on the other side,
a very popular SP was outted and I was said/suspected to be the perpetrator. The SP contacted me and told me what was being said about me. For the record, I didn't "out" anyone but it took a lot of guts to have them contact me and tell me what their head was being filled with. It wasn't an accusation but a discussion. A "Head's up. Let's talk about this.".

I hate gossip and drama as much as the next person and I've been on the receiving end of some doozy's but all was handled like a pro and as a pro should.
Bottom line: if you hear a tidbit of another it's your responsibility to take it up with the subject. The minute it leaves your mouth to the ears of someone other than the subject, it becomes malicious and vindictive.

Nope, clearly you missed the point. The point is to keep the shit to yourself. If you have a concern upon hearing something very personal that could perhaps endanger many lives, then it would be appropriate to talk to the person to whom it's regarding and not to colleagues.

The fact you responded to this thread makes you the next guy and the gossip was about me technically making the very subject without "gossip" in literal meaning. Funny you should be posting on a thread on an online forum in the lounge section...

This thread was hot on the heels of a very public and messy warning. I was sought for for advice and I came out with a general rule that was clearly ignored as an SP not by me but by a colleague. Note I did not give any names.

As for your claim to not knowing full names, you are one of the very few sp’s who asks for identification, it even states that on your website as well as right here on perb in past announcements. You also have call display which gives 411 on a caller and you won’t answer blocked numbers so yes you have access to info.

I look for dates and pics on the identification, not the names. As for caller ID, I'm not spending the extra time and money to finding out a name to correspond with the number because I don't, and hopefully never will, need it. And precisely what will I do with a clients personal info?

I didn't think we needed to get into a semantic argument over this in this particular thread however since you challenged...

Blowhard requested to have his account "deactivated". Now regardless of what the actual wording of it was (close, delete, deactivate, etc.) when a user requests to close their account it is still listed as "banned" under their handle if they've haven't also asked to have all their posts cleared as well.

This makes me wonder what you were thinking when you posted this:
