Finding a job... I am looking for a PT job that isn't seasonal and honestly its the fight of my life. So many tech layoffs as in thousands in my city. I am now competing for jobs that people with genuinely genius backgrounds are going for. I am probably going to have to take early retirement in a few years just to survive and work a little. Can't wait for full retirement age. I feel for these kids now. Nothing good in the future. Robots taking over the tech jobs and trade jobs wreck your body by mid 40s amd you have to work outdoors too much.

Trades jobs are fine if you respect your body and take your journeymans advice and use your ppe.
Plus you don't come out of your apprenticeship buried on a mountain or debt.
Plus if you're a union tradesman,you can retire at 55-60 with a nice pension that's transferable to your so / spouse when you head to the pearly gates.

I know a few others in the same boat, but I’m curious about your situation. Without giving away your identity could you share a few more details? Like type of tech and the scale of layoffs in your field. You hear about it in the media, but not a lot of details on the actual impact….
