if there is a change, it will take a fair time to be rolled out to all the borders, brokers, freight forwarders and on and on.

Speaking as someone involved in import/export….
Sending out hundreds of duties payable notices weekly.
Parcels out for delivery with couriers. Tariffs change after notices sent. Hundreds of pissed off customers filing appeals for refunds.
If tariffs go up, brokers suddenly liable for hundreds of increased payments due.
It is unbelievably difficult to run a business with an unhinged lunatic asshole changing the rules constantly almost hourly.

Hi people! I have a question for all of you. I think I am missing something here. Since the SCOTUS has declared that felon pedopotus tariffs are illegal, why is the EU demanding that US abide by the 15% tariff they agreed upon last August? Since the tariffs are now now null and void, isn't it better to them if everything revert back to pre "liberation day" status quo?

All the political threads have a significant aspect of venting associated with them. In particular when it comes to just obvious political misdemeanors and / or blatant criminal activity and / or what is close to insanity.
The way I read it in all the political threads you have those who have as you write "bitter hatred" of the LEFT, the RIGHT and most likely all of what is in between.
What I do not see or frankly expect to see are high level political arguments for whatever political entity has done.
And underlying all this, is that this is a pooner forum and the threads in the Lounge are for all types of chit chat. And lots of humorous responses.
So feel free to chit and others will chat.

Trump hypocrisy- he makes a trade deal with UK with 10% tariffs. In his tantrum he raises them to 15%. UK says they may reconsider after Trump raised the tariffs. American trade representative says “ we held up our end of the bargain, we expect the UK to hold up theirs”.
So here’s the issue.
Trump changed the deal after it was made.
But somehow the UK are the bad guys?
This is why business hates Trump - he doesn’t honour any deal he makes. And lies about it after he violates his agreements.

There could have been an agreement for reduced rates on certain goods that were lower. So bumping up to 15% cuts exports from EU. And there could have been counter agreements on rates for goods coming from the USA.And unlikely refunds will be issued for illegally collected $ from that round for Tariffs.

I had ordered an item from Amazon, shipped from Italy, stopped in the USA then to me. Damn Courier charged the Tariff that was applied to it's stop in the USA even though it was just a short stop for what I am assuming was a flight change for delivery.
I didn't actually buy anything from the USA.
