I will always remember these two defining encounters:
vs. Gorbachev
vs. Chretien

Order of Canada is not a military order. This irrelevant dickhead gets the OC when countless Veterans have actually sacrificed something other than their dignity?
Canada doesn't have much anymore in the way of "Canadian culture". Nardwuar is one of the very few to have actually contributed to what little cultural fabric we have. I usually scoff at any awards because usually it's nothing more than a political circle jerk so a bunch of big whigs can fellate each other over how great they think they are, but Nardwuar actually did something to deserve it.This irrelevant dickhead gets the OC when countless Veterans have actually sacrificed something other than their dignity?
Nardwuar is a comical representation of a music “journalist”, seldom taken seriously and if I might be so bold as to suggest completely unworthy.
I worked in higher education unfortunately for a brief period and everyone would keep one-upping each other with land acknowledgements. They would be sure to name as many first nations bands as they could, with proper pronunciation, and would side eye anyone who had a weaker, less polished land acknowledgment. One would even bring a first nations friend along with a drum to accompany the land acknowledgment with a welcome song. It's the ultimate way to virtue signal. Interestingly enough, their opinions on the Cowichan lands decision seem to differ from what they say in their land acknowledgment...The Order of Canada is about as meaningful as land acknowledgements.
Hopefully the apologists also sold their home dwellings in solidarity as well.I worked in higher education unfortunately for a brief period and everyone would keep one-upping each other with land acknowledgements. Maybe gave them rather than sold them?Hopefully the apologists also sold their home dwellings in solidarity as well.
