Border crossing, what’s new?

I haven’t crossed the border in a while and just wondered if the experience has changed over the past year, considering the rhetoric from down south.
Has anyone driven across recently, and if so has the experience changed much? Are US border officials actually checking and possibly seizing phones or is that a fairly rare occurrence?
Anything else people should be aware of?

I finally got a nexus pass last year. Haven't used it. Kind of put off by it all.

I have a Nexus pass. I have not been across in a couple months but I have had no problems. Most days the lineups are super short. The U.S. boarder people have been super friendly. I get the feeling they are bored with the lack of traffic. When someone shows up they are super happy just to have a customer.

I’m a Canadian who lives in the US. I’ve gone back and forth a number of times in the last few months. I try not to cross at Peace Arch unless I have to.

I have Nexus and it’s been very quick each time. However, I’m still nervous and I wipe all my texts with any political commentary, and I don’t have any social media apps on my phone.

The non-Nexus lanes have looked like a mess each time. Lots of cars pulled over, and long posted waiting times even when the lines aren’t terribly long.

I wouldn’t go to the US unless you absolutely have to.

I cross nearly every day during the week through Pembina, ND. Zero issues. Haven't seen any issues with others as well. Traffic has dropped considerably with the current U.S. Gov.

I read something about a fee for going to America for visitors.....
I read that too. It turns out it’s only for people who would require a visa to enter the US, so it won’t apply to Canadians. Yet

People from all over the world going to the World Cup and the Olympics? Why would the US want to make that easy. They are just fucked in the head down there ATM

can't disagree...we are. Insult to injury, @rina Mood has a 'no American' policy (don't blame her). I'm a NEXUS holder and have had zero issues, although I'm usually asked if I'm carrying a weapon.

TLDR: get a nexus pass

To clarify, I have a non-USA policy for FMTYs and tours. I still get asked 😂 My site & ads only have "non-USA" or "no-USA" right by the international FMTY parts.... 😅

Americans are very welcome to book me in Vancouver! 😇 I am simply not willing to visit the USA for any reason.

I traveled to Seattle this past weekend. Entered via the truck crossing into Blaine and there were only 2 other vehicles before us entering with 2 booths open at approx 4:15pm, on a Friday.
The questioning was minimal. Where are we traveling from, destination and reason for travel. We as in 2 middle aged Caucasian females, a 21yr old male and myself.....a status "Blindian" female.
We (minus the 21yr old male) returned via Peace Arch, with minimal traffic, approx 4:30pm, on Sunday. Again, the questioning was slight. Where did we travel to, how long were we gone and are
we returning with any goods to declare.
Our travel was easy, with no apparent red flags being noticed. I would imagine questioning, leading to secondary is dependent on the usual criteria. Travel at your own discretion.

Traveled back and forth last weekend via Peace Arch .... 3 questions .... maybe a minute on US border ( it was 30 min wait to get there ) and even shorter on my way back with no wait at all. I have no Nexus card.

@the Meat Market!!!lol
I had a report of a serious incident where it appears facial recognition was used...banned for 10 years...

It feels like things are escalating...all the focus on "fentanyl" and illegal immigration is seeing a lot of funding and power flowing to border services agencies...

love susie
