Hey all, do the kamloops cops tend to do sting operations?
I was driving home from work today and noticed a couple cops hanging out at a columbia st hotel, then a little later decided to make a little date, and sure enough she was at the same hotel, decided to make other plans...
Could be coincidence, could be paranoia, or could have been something but I wasn't chancing it.
Anyway, anyone ever heard of one going down around here?

A few hotels along Columbia St are some of BC Housing's pet projects... They bought a few roach-motels around the city and use it for supportive housing....

Which means unfortunately, certain types of providers share the place with those 'special type of people' that like to bring the cops over every night.

As for 'sting operations', I wouldn't put it past them. Generally speaking, the RCMP has said in the past that enforcing prostitution is a nothingburger venture, but that probably is meant for Vancouver and other larger cities where more important crimes are being committed. But in no-nothing Kamloops, they probably do care enough to make a few arrests. Lately I've been seeing more news articles about prostitution busts around the Hugh Allen (fancier) Hotel drag, but only because the person 'handling' the providers there are too loud and stupid when scamming people that the cops get involved...(or so how I read into the article).

You'd be right to be paranoid, but not about the cops. Again, it's a nothingburger vice to them. However it would be the 'special people' that I'd be more worried about.
