The latest polls project a Liberal win. An amazing turn around considering earlier in this thread in January someone projected that the Liberals would only get 6 seats.

Of course the majority of the credit goes to Trump. Trump's tariffs may be awful for the country, but they have been a miracle for the Liberal party.

I heard on the news this evening that Trump said he didn't like PP but thought he could work with Carney and the Liberals. Though ironically, Trump's endorsement may actually work against Carney and the Liberals.

Carney will be way tougher for Trump to actually work with tho. I’ve watched a lot of question and answer sessions with carney and Trump won’t crack him and Canada will come out stronger then ever. In my opinion, Carney might not be great for poor people or social services (I don’t know yet) but he’ll be awesome for turning Canada into an independent strong nation that won’t need the USA at all.

I think so. He knows money and he knows the world of business. They come from the same circles. I think he will be able to talk sense to Trump without offending him.

And we’ll just do our own thing. And Trump will be like well that didn’t work. They’re financially stronger now. So much for wrecking their economy and annexing them.

Maybe trump did us a favor. Optimism is part of my personality tho lol. We’ll see.

Trump has outright lied and broken the law a zillion times. When I said they were from the same world, I just meant the rich world. But carney is a thousand times smarter than Trump and will be great for the economy and for Canada as a whole.

I’m ndp. Not a liberal cult member. Although I’ll be voting liberal in this election as I honestly think carney will be better than Singh for dealing with Trump. This is after reading every single article and information that I can find about carney, while trying to avoid obvious bias articles.

Trudeau stepped down. Carney is now the leader of the liberal party. Canada voted the liberal party in who Trudeau happened to be the leader of and now carney. He absolutely is calling an election for April. But we are also in a bit of a crisis here. I have zero problem with what he’s doing right now. And if the cons were in and their leader stepped down and a new leader came on, then that’s just the way it is for that too

I’m learning lots about politics from this thread. Every time overdone posts, I go look up something and learn something new.

You have to be careful in this decade to avoid left or right bias reporting. Look for the facts which are sometimes hard to find!
