Pope Francis is ill. The world is watching and fretting. Prayers and wishes.

Tough gig.

The pope has to navigate the netherland between hierarchical fanaticism and impending irrelevance. Frankie seems to get his pontiveness as a point for chat, rather than a pointy hat.

May the smoke blow favourably on the papal journey.

The church has its problems but Francis seems like a reasonable and moderate pope. With so many leaders playing the bombastic extremist, I appreciate a leader that practices some modesty.

Imagine no religion.
No kidding, how many wars would have never been fought and how many who have been and are today persecuted, would have been free.
Organized religion is a cop out.
But Hey, My God is better than your God!!

I don't give a rat's ass about the health of the leader of the largest international organization of child molesters (still extremely active) in the world. Hope he dies an agonizing and horrible death.

it's the parents, who force their beliefs on children

perpetuating the myths

all religions are forced on children, that's the real child abuse

stop doing that, it would disappear like so called "mythology" did

like Ricky Gervais said to Stephen Colbert, a Catholic

"I don't believe in just one more god than you"

out of the 3000 made up by humans

When a delegation of sexual abuse survivors tried to get audience with him a few years ago he said something to the effect "I accuse. I accuse. Who accuses? The devil. That's who" so much for reasonable and moderate.

That's a terrible thing to say to those people.

A man reaching down to his favourite ant and giving the ant the "ten commandments".
Basicly the writtings of any relgion were made by man to control the population of the times.
To control the masses, to stir up the masses (of people) and commit them masses to war. Yes religion has started more wars, and ended by economic means.

nah, god will surely reach out to another prophet soon, and make it A-OK to murder our neighbours and bugger the alter boys in his name.

I think Einstein was on to something…

The president of Mormon church is one of the richest men in the US, probably richer than Elon Musk. The mormon church is exploiting its members by demanding that they give up 10% of their income but he isn't as hated as the catholic pope.

I spent a minute with google, you know because the internet NEVER lies
The estimate of wealth for the Catholic Church is 30B$, with the Vatican at around 10B$. But, that definitely does not include the artifacts in their control and really is way shy of land values alone around the world. So, its unknown.
The Mormon church though is on record of net wealth of about 265B$, not their poo bah, the church. And if google has it right, the Nazi-musk is at around 365B$ give or take.
Really gets back to Tax The Churches and start solving a lot of social problems.
