I would stop oppressing them and subjecting them to inhumane conditions, and then cheering when they give me any reason to revert back to acting like barbarians towards them trying to steal more of their land. Clearly Israel gets enough money and military equipment from the US that all of these attacks against them are impotent. It's like using a nuclear bomb against someone throwing stones at you.

Again, the way that they've acted through all of this is completely shameless and inhumane.
Palestinians are like those ā€œFuck Around and Find Outā€ video clips. Stupid-ass agitators getting consequences.

The history behind this never-ending conflict has become largely irrelevant now to much of the developed world. Pretty much every nation in europe and asia was sacked, over taken, and conquered at one point or another, if not multiple times. Heck, there are mosques overlaying christian churches and visa-versa. Smart countries that value their survival move on.

War is shit, countries and whole civilizations get wiped out. Borders change. Populations change. No one is exempt. I doubt there are very many authentic egyptians left in Egypt any more, yet Egypt has found a path to peaceful relations with their neighbours. Stability grew after WW2. The jews had it pretty tough through the whole halocaust era, and what was left of them were re-located into what is now Isreal at the end of WWII. Fresh start. Palestinians didn’t like it, and still don’t. But hey, that’s fucking life and what happens as a result of war.

70 years to sort it out. Nope, they still want all jews dead, and act on that every chance they get. They are no longer unfortunate recipients of new people thrust upon them as a result of war and attempted genocide against all jews, they are now perpetrators of relentless hatred and terrorism who themselves want genocide of jews.

The world is tired of woke liberal ass-wipes playing the palestinian victim card, when in reality Palestinians don’t want peace, and have rejected it at every chance while continuing to fuck around and find out.

Hamas seems to own the playbook for winning the Darwin awards. Any sympathetic arguments for their plight are long gone since invading Isreal, murdering civilians, taking hostages, and continuing their evil hatred and jihad to this day. Whatever shit they are taking frankly they got coming.

Now they have a choice—find a peaceful solution or forfeit their land. The west in particular is tired of their of their shit, despite the fact that their buildings and hospitals got blown up to flush out the terrorists hiding there and free the hostages.

Fuck around and find out = stupid fucking trolls.

I truly hope Palestinians reform, but remain doubtful that peace is possible with these zealots. Best of luck, or good riddance.

Apparently you like your neighbours to keep throwing stones into your yard, and occassionally you and your family get hit by these stones. You obviously like these stones hitting your family as you don't retaliate.

After awhile no matter your philosophy, you are going to burn your neighbours house down, with him inside of it.

It is a simple fucken case of "I have had enough of your fucken shit".

Poke the bear long enough, its going to fucken maul you to death....

Pretty much the HAMAS and the people of Gaza are really fucken stupid. Because they keep poking the bear.

Bear with me a bit, I do not live in Israel, but ever since I became aware of world events in the 80s, Israel has be in conflict with its neighbours. My solution at the time was to make Israel a glass parking lot (nukem all). Israel has been asking for peace from its neighbours since 1948, and after so many years, time after time, some country/or individual continues to throw rocks that hurt them.... Yeah the bear has been poked too many times.....

Now I think Israel should give the Gaza people a choice. End the crusade/jihad or commit mass suicide....

The thing is it has always been the choice of the Palestinians to poke the bear and continue the war. They have never chosen to live with their neighbours in peace...

As for the "Liberal Bleeding Hearts" saying women, children and babies on the Palestinian side are being killed. Those same women, children and babies are hiding the HAMAS fighters in the camps. Nobody on the Gaza side is saying stop this unnecessary war, and we will no longer commit acts of terror on you Israel. They want the war to stop killing Palestinians, so they can build up and do more terrorist things against Israel in the future.

As for allowing Gazan refugees into Canada. NO F'en WAY!!! Muslim countries don't want them, because they make trouble, like to blow things up and assassinate people. So no, they are not for CANADA.
They're not doing it for no reason. It's because Israel controls their territory and regularly deprives them of the basic necessities for life. When someone keeps you subjugated for life, denying you basic commodities required for life, it's no surprise that they're going to fight back eventually. It's all an environment that Israel itself is responsible for. They actively encourage and benefit from it, each time the people they abuse fight back.

Seems like Elon is cutting the budget, but his companies are getting contracts. Some people are saying conflict of interest.

Also in the news is the official announcement from the Trump Administration that they won't sponsor Ukraine for NATO. So the Trump Admin is slowly hanging Ukraine out to dry. Over a week in office and Trump still has not stopped the war in Ukraine, what is he waiting for. Another Trump promise broken??

Personally I think its those hotel photos in Russia, where he is compromised at the beauty pageant.

So it looks like Trump is taking the states into an isolationist position on the world scene. Starting with tariffs to break the Nafta/CUSMA agreement he signed on his last term in office. Are US business seeing this trend and moving to other countries?

80 Watts. Please don’t dim down to 60.

We need you at 100+ during this epoch.

Maybe, just maybe give Trunp a couple more weeks to accomplish world peace. Maybe a quarter or so if you are feeling generous.

I know, I know, high hopes given all the bravado. At least we are breaking out of the western indecision paralysis. Sigh. Patience is hard.

God bless,

He was clearly referencing Trump's really dumb promise that he would end the war in Ukraine immediately, and before he even took office.

Ending the proxy war with Russia in Ukraine to increase tension or start a conflict with US allies .

By mid century the US hegemony/empire will have passed its peak and will have been surpassed by China but with trump's help and policies it might come even faster .

The furthest reaching power in human history will have been the shortest one by the look of it . With the help of a few demagogues .... nothing is impossible. Staff in the Russian and Chinese bot farms must be ecstatic about what they were able to accomplish in just a decade with the world democracies through social medias.

Pretty sure that kid got nowhere near Trump with a bullet.... When you are on target, your bullets go up and down due to breathing, not side to side. Yet I have seen no diagram on the trajectory from shooter to Trump, to the people killed. And that movement of Trump putting his hand in the air, very unnatural for Trump to do so, Cause I have never seen him ever do that movement before. People are creatures of habit. That jesture is not a habit for Trump.
So if anybody has seen a trajectory diagram, pls let me know or post a link.
Cuz it was a staged shooting... How many people do u know that get shot and do t have any scarring for the injury

Genius ploy by the republicans to get Trump in

Maybe go read how Hamas was elected.... Majority of Palestinians Are NOT Hamas nor want them

I guess all the Palestinian 'prisonors' being illegally held by Israel were poking the bear too, right

I guess all the kids who were blown to bits were poking the bear too right, or the hospitals with sick and dying people were also poking the bear, right

"As for allowing Gazan refugees into Canada. NO F'en WAY!!!"

I bet the indigenous felt thr same about the whites that came from europe and took their land

Listen to trump when he speaks of Canada and how weak we are ( comparatively so it’s true ) it doesn’t take him long to weave into how great it would be have the ( gag ) 51st state . The orange fuck head ( who likely has Kennedys brain worm ) only wants to unveil
The ā€œ new ā€œ largest country in the world ( ā€œby alot ā€œ as he would say ) on their 250th birthday , and have mass resources at his disposal thereby have his ugly mug carved into Mount Rushmore ( when he really wants is to mount Ivanka ) Fuck him and his Nazi ass cabinet. History WILL remember him , history remembers Hitler also .
Now no sugar coating it Mr Haskell. Let us know how you really feel about this!

Population collapse is the single most threat to our way of living, even more so than climate change.

LOL, no. The world has 8 billon people now, where at the start of the industrial era, it had only 1 billion.
You want to know where every environmental problem comes from? Right there.
If the global population scales back down to half or less, in a controlled way, we might survive. If birth rates are in decline, that is a natural throttling-back of the need to breed, seen in all the countries where thanks to advancement there is no longer the need to breed like rats. This is the system trying to self-correct to equiliobrium, and should not be considered to threat.

On the other hand, if we keep driving the population upwards, along with all the excess demand and damage that produces, before too long the ecosystem will pass the tipping point into global catastrophe. Then it really will collapse, an uncontrolled free-fall that is not survivable as nearly all species are made extinct in just a few years (including ours). The hard & fatal reset for all life. Earth's sixth great extinction.

Our economic systems rely on growth. With population retraction comes economic retraction.
GDP "retraction" is not the bogeyman it seems to be, if the population is actually receding on pace with it, not cutting into the actual lives led by individual or eroding productivity measured as efficiency. Can the market (and therefore society) see it that way? Or are the too locked in to the orthodoxy of the past to imagine a world which changes the definition of economic success?

It seems sometimes like it wants t have it two ways - productivity improvements via automation and AI will eliminate jobs, but if the positions are redundant does that not release the pressure upon a population that is throttling back of its own accord?
The efforts of some countries to sustain the unsustainable are a mistake. They need to focus on GDP per capita and not just the total, citizens' quality of life not quantity.

The economics of raw GDP growth without accounting for the total damage in a closed & finite system (trying ignore it as "externalities") are a trap. It creates a feedback, where growth can only afford its own side effects through more growth, creating a spiral upwards until the bubble must hit its finite limit and burst. The free market cannot naturally correct this without some kind of external supervision, because on its own, its motives are fulfilled by shedding consideration of things which might impinge on one's own gain.

The ecosystem does have the ability to repair itself - if if is not being carved up more and more by a human population that grows and takes more from the closed system, without regard to its finite carrying capacity. Right now, human civilization has blown right past that red line of carrying capacity. The world cannot even survive us at the level we are now; adding more to us takes away from the rest of it, and that has been the foundation for all the "growth" the current system relies on. We are simply getting batter at taking from this world, and leaving less and less of the ecosystem alone. That cannot be sustained (economically) or survived (in terms of being alive or dead). Frankly, if people are trying to measure growth without measuring that, it is no more credible than the sales pitch of a Ponzi scheme, a promise of reward ignoring the math that leads it to the inevitable collapse.

Yes, there is an alternative, called steady-state economics or circular economies (slightly different aspects of the same idea), they seek that level of economic, social, ecological and technological equilibrium, where population is basically steady and the resources in use are basically not causing any new damage to the ecosystem - because the system does not incentivize uncontrolled expansion and is designed to sustain itself without further damage to the ecosystem.

Iran wants to assassinate the bastard. Apparently they have surface to air missiles in the US they could use to shoot down AF1 or Trump Force 1 or whatever the piece of shit calls it.
That plane is the most protected plane on earth, every kind of ECM system that exists. I doubt that the Iranians have anything that can even scratch it.

The government of Iran wanted to pop Trump ever since the assassination of Gen. Solemani, by Trump's admistration. The USA decided to have the guy whacked because of all military leaders, he was the one most responsible for defeating ISIS in Syria and Iraq, and thwarting the Americans' strategic plans. He personally stitched together the alliance of Syria, Hezbollah, Iraq, Russia, and Iran. (The guy was like Rommel; didn't shy away from going where the fighting was, but also in having a remarkable career even if it was for a shitty regime.)

Actually, since John Bolton and Mike Pompeo were involved, they are on the Iranian shit-list too, and Trump made a point of removing Bolton's secret service protection recently. (Not sure about Pompeo.)

Well, anyways, Iran swore revenge on Trump et al.; they do that a lot. Dollars to donuts, they do not have any actual plan for it in the works. Maybe Canada should send JTF2 to git 'er done and collect that bounty from them, hmm? :sneaky:

A letter from Chretien to Trump

Today is my 91st birthday.
It’s an opportunity to celebrate with family and friends. To look back on the life I’ve had the privilege to lead. And to reflect on how much this country we all love so much has grown and changed over the course of the nine decades I’ve been on this Earth.
This year, I’ve also decided to give myself a birthday present. I’m going to do something in this article that I don’t do very often anymore, and sound off on a big issue affecting the state of the nation and profoundly bothering me and so many other Canadians: The totally unacceptable insults and unprecedented threats to our very sovereignty from U.S. president-elect Donald Trump.
I have two very clear and simple messages.
To Donald Trump, from one old guy to another: Give your head a shake! What could make you think that Canadians would ever give up the best country in the world – and make no mistake, that is what we are – to join the United States?
I can tell you Canadians prize our independence. We love our country. We have built something here that is the envy of the world – when it comes to compassion, understanding, tolerance and finding a way for people of different backgrounds and faiths to live together in harmony.
We’ve also built a strong social safety net – especially with public health care – that we are very proud of. It’s not perfect, but it’s based on the principle that the most vulnerable among us should be protected.
This may not be the ā€œAmerican Wayā€ or ā€œthe Trump Way.ā€ But it is the reality I have witnessed and lived my whole long life.
If you think that threatening and insulting us is going to win us over, you really don’t know a thing about us. You don’t know that when it came to fighting in two world wars for freedom, we signed up – both times – years before your country did. We fought and we sacrificed well beyond our numbers.
We also had the guts to say no to your country when it tried to drag us into a completely unjustified and destabilizing war in Iraq.
We built a nation across the most rugged, challenging geography imaginable. And we did it against the odds.
We may look easy-going. Mild-mannered. But make no mistake, we have spine and toughness.
And that leads me to my second message, to all our leaders, federal and provincial, as well as those who are aspiring to lead our country: Start showing that spine and toughness. That’s what Canadians want to see – what they need to see. It’s called leadership. You need to lead. Canadians are ready to follow.
I know the spirit is there. Ever since Mr. Trump’s attacks, every political party is speaking out in favour of Canada. In fact, it is to my great satisfaction that even the Bloc QuĆ©bĆ©cois is defending Canada.
But you don’t win a hockey game by only playing defence. We all know that even when we satisfy one demand, Mr. Trump will come back with another, bigger demand. That’s not diplomacy; it’s blackmail.
We need another approach – one that will break this cycle.
Mr. Trump has accomplished one thing: He has unified Canadians more than we have been ever before! All leaders across our country have united in resolve to defend Canadian interests.
When I came into office as prime minister, Canada faced a national unity crisis. The threat of Quebec separation was very real. We took action to deal with this existential threat in a manner that made Canadians, including Quebeckers, stronger, more united and even prouder of Canadian values.
Now there is another existential threat. And we once again need to reduce our vulnerability. That is the challenge for this generation of political leaders.
And you won’t accomplish it by using the same old approaches. Just like we did 30 years ago, we need a Plan B for 2025.
Yes, telling the Americans we are their best friends and closest trading partner is good. So is lobbying hard in Washington and the state capitals, pointing out that tariffs will hurt the American economy too. So are retaliatory tariffs – when you are attacked, you have to defend yourself.
But we also have to play offence. Let’s tell Mr. Trump that we too have border issues with the United States. Canada has tough gun control legislation, but illegal guns are pouring in from the U.S. We need to tell him that we expect the United States to act to reduce the number of guns crossing into Canada.
We also want to protect the Arctic. But the United States refuses to recognize the Northwest Passage, insisting that it is an international waterway, even though it flows through the Canadian Arctic as Canadian waters. We need the United States to recognize the Northwest Passage as being Canadian waters.
We also need to reduce Canada’s vulnerability in the first place. We need to be stronger. There are more trade barriers between provinces than between Canada and the United States. Let’s launch a national project to get rid of those barriers! And let’s strengthen the ties that bind this vast nation together through projects such as real national energy grid.
We also have to understand that Mr. Trump isn’t just threatening us; he’s also targeting a growing list of other countries, as well as the European Union itself, and he is just getting started. Canada should quickly convene a meeting of the leaders of Denmark, Panama, Mexico, as well as with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, to formulate a plan for fighting back these threats.
Every time that Mr. Trump opens his mouth, he creates new allies for all of us. So let’s get organized! To fight back against a big, powerful bully, you need strength in numbers.
The whole point is not to wait in dread for Donald Trump’s next blow. It’s to build a country and an international community that can withstand those blows.
Canadians know me. They know I am an optimist. That I am practical. And that I always speak my mind. I made my share of mistakes over a long career, but I never for a moment doubted the decency of my fellow Canadians – or of my political opponents.
The current and future generations of political leaders should remember they are not each other’s enemies – they are opponents. Nobody ever loved the cut-and-thrust of politics more than me, but I always understood that each of us was trying to make a positive contribution to make our community or country a better place.
That spirit is more important now than ever, as we address this new challenge. Our leaders should keep that in mind.
I am 91 today and blessed with good health. I am ready at the ramparts to help defend the independence of our country as I have done all my life.
Vive le Canada!
(This photo is from an appearance by M. Chretien on The Agenda with Steve Paikin in 2018).
