Our economic systems rely on growth. With population retraction comes economic retraction. Countries worls wide are trying to address this. China lifting 1 child policy. India changing policies also. Many other countries are trying to attract immigrants.

What's your sulution to Palestinians rejecting every two state proposal, and elect Hamas, whose only goal is to evaporate Israel? How do you reason with people who won't reason? How do you negotiate with people who won't negotiate, and want your total destruction? How do you defend against every hostile neighbour? Both sides goal is to exterminate the other as both sides are lead by their extremists which prevents any negotiation. Short of gathering them into a same room and put guns on their foreheads with a hourglass doing a countdown it will require new generational leaders or someone quite inspirational to get to a compromise.
The average Israeli as well as the average Palestinian are reasonable and decent people that deserve better than the Status Quo. Both sides have acted horribly but since Israel has the upper hand and the ultimate power over those territories they have to act accordingly as a democracy which is far from what they have done .
Oh by the way... Israel has a common law type of constitution closer to a parliamentarian system and with a civil code if i recall. Netanyahu keeps slashing at it though for his personal benefit and protection against prosecution.
