Ultimately the best tactic is to cause your opponent to loose focus/balance.
The real reason to have the major media/social media outlets to drop fact checking.
This allows the narrative to be what ever they want it to be in order to exercise this tactic.
He says look over here, and where does everybody look? Over there of course!!

If everything he is saying is to be believed, then it would be a terrible idea to have Greenland Join an alliance with Canada. It would also be a terrible idea to have west coast states succeed to join Canada.
Their narrative has got everyone's ponytails in knots.

Some of the serious narrative I read here, hear from the Canadian Government, and hear/read from our media outlets, is just as bad as the narrative the Trump Admin has been spouting.
Ridiculous is just that; Ridiculous.

The comedic narrative tho, SWEET!!

My math is pretty good. At the end of the year I had more dough than I did at the start of the year. I live well, not extravagantly but no need to live that way. Owe nothing , want for nothing. Bonus ....price of weed has dropped considerably. Its about choices and attitude.
Im alright Jack! That is why Canada is such a great place! Lets just forget about the 2.5 Million going to food banks every week, the lost generations that will never be able to afford to buy a home, let alone find a suitable affordable place to rent and the ever increasing hordes of drug addicted homeless that swarm the downtown eastside. Actually the main reason you are doing ok is the time period in which you were born there boomer, when life was a lot more affordable and easier and choices were available to make. If you have children you will realize life is not like that here anymore.

And weed is cheaper!! Canada is doing great! That is why the political party currently in charge for the last decade is disintegrating before our very eyes and about to be wiped off the map even in their traditional strongholds..

I recognize this is the USA political thread and will move on from here and stay on topic but felt that had to be said.

No kids would want my house..... only one bathroom...the horror. No kids would want my 08 suv....No kids would put up with my home made coffee vs a $ 7.00 frappawhatever. Every generation faced its challenges socially and economically. I made choices. One was to have no kids another was to never be owned by a job or a bank.

If Trump slaps a 25% tariff on Canadian goods, are any of the ladies here going to slap a 25% tariff on their U.S. clients ?

Over 70 million who didn't get the satire and took all that literally.

Yes, and hopeully that's AFTER taking their dollars at par.
Seems fair, they take my dollar at par for the Golden Gate Bridge, why shouldn't our ladies take their dollars at par for their Golden Gates.:p:p

The rhetoric coming from the US is something you have to take seriously even if you see it as comical or satirical
Many say you should read the Art of the Deal, but truth be known, you should really be reading The Art Of War by Sun Tzu.
This book will give you much more insight, than will The Art Of The Deal.

EDIT: Every canadian politician should be reading The Art Of War, as well as write a report on how the book applies to canadian relations.

Wanna bet they wouldn't? Its pretty obvious you never had kids and you isolated yourself from the actual realities of life today. Sure some kids come from households with lots of money and have been spoiled but the large majority are living day to day, facing horrific rental costs driven by the lack of housing options and huge increase in population during the last decade combined with a shrinking choice of job options. You grew up at a time when you could afford to buy a house, that is not the case for GenZ and some millenials now.
In the US its part of the reason that Democrats can no longer count on the younger vote and a much larger proportion of it shifted to Trump in 2024. ...aside from the fact that they ran two nonsense unserious and oblivious candidates who had no idea how to answer a question without either mumbling incoherently or a word salad.

OMG look who might have ended the Gaza conflict and he isn't even President yet.

Waiting for the Reagan/Carter Iran hostage situation comparisons saying it was a setup if it happens.

I never married, Don't regret that part for a minute now knowing how people myself included can completely change on a dime. The part about not being owned by job or bank. Boy oh boy how I wish I could go back in time and change that. Its a prison sentence not escaped for most.

I work 2 part time jobs because I can only tolerate one job for 2 days max.

Tax (rob) the rich, give to the poor...
oh that's the Robin Hood motto....
and why shouldn't we rob the rich, after all they made all the rules to help themselves out..... lobbyists.

I'm starting to see more famous Canadians who are writting about Trudeau... and its not good. He took his woke policies too far and its gonna rebound in certain circles.

If Trump follows through with the tariffs, well I can see hitting back, but our economy is going to suffer. I just hope that house prices don't drastically drop in the meantime.

The next government will have to actively start to look for more money.... tariffs anyone. Maybe export tax on Canadian goods going to USA.

DAMN YOU CLIMATE CHANGE !!!!!!
Lots of anger here. I assume you're a victim and I am sorry for your loss, it must be devastating. Natural disasters have no "party" affiliation.

Unless there is some way...any way to blame Trump.

There was no way to stop that disaster, but there were opportunities to mitigate the issue and reduce its severity. California politicians failed at every turn.

The firefighters have been warning about this for well over a decade.

Underfunded.....hundreds of vehicles sitting on a lot unusable because there is no money to repair them. Staffing levels 9th out of 10 in firefighters per residence of Americas largest 10 cities....only beating another California city...San Diego. Climate change regulations preventing the removal of dead trees and brush from the forests or creating fire breaks, diversion of water, not filling reserviors...the Palisades one being empty for almost a year.....and now...even if you get an offer to sell your property and its acceptable...you are not allowed to sell it for less than its worth for several months at least but still have to pay a mortgage and property taxes

And they wanted to cut fire department funding even further while...for example... blowing 24 Billion dollars on homeless and only adding to the problem over the last decade.... 5 billion spent on building a bullet train to nowhere that was never completed...don't people have a right to be angry?
