Tips for first time Massage Parlor visit

Hi,

I was hoping to try the Massage parlor in Vancouver. I was hoping to get some tips to help me with my first visit. I was also wondering if the Masseuse care about the client body types (or judge)?

I moved to Vancouver from San Diego and heard a lot of cop stuff with the AMP's there. I would really appreciate some insights.

Find something you like maybe do a search for it here to get an idea of what your walking into. I recommend this step.

Been doing this for 8+ years and I have never had an issue or close call outside of getting a tug from an old, pot belly of a women that will fill your head with regret.

Do they care about your body? Maybe, but they like money more and I guarantee they have seen it all.

I used to be in really good shape and yes.. that definitely made a difference.

Just be respectful and kind and it's all going to work out.

Try not to get addicted. I went through phases of going weekly and that shit adds up.

To fill in the blanks around the law, true to Canadian form it’s more twisted than a pretzel and tries to conform to everyone’s wishes, doing so and not at all.

The exchange of sex for money is not illegal, but the activities around it are: purchasing sex (wha???, yes, exactly….), managing sexual services, and advertising sexual services.

I can’t remember exactly how we arrived at this Mish-mash, but I believe the BC’s Pivot Legal Society took a case to the Supreme Court of Canada arguing that a person had jurisdiction over their own body and if they wanted to trade sex for $ the state had no place in the bedroom. Also, punishing sex workers pushed them into unseen and unsafe places underground and was prejudicial to their trade and to ply it in a safe manner. They won. So it fell to the government of the day (I believe Stephen Harper’s Conservatives) to come up with the current law and they are the authors of that word salad.

I think the needle they were trying to thread was to follow the Supreme Court’s ruling while at the same time give jurisdictions the power to stop human trafficking and exploitation should they so wish.

The current reality is that most governments in Canada, and certainly BC, have tacit instructions to leave consenting adults alone. That means that you can go to pretty much any massage place without the fear of running into cops or being raided. Ditto for agencies and independents.

Welcome to BC. The biggest thing that they're going to care about is that you are clean, polite to them and respect the boundaries that they have. Also ask to see a line up and don't let a manager or a lady bully you into going with someone who doesn't interest you or try to charge you to see a line up. Have fun and read the spa reviews here they cover pretty much all the spa's in the lower mainland. As for the police they don't get involved unless there is some kind of issue. I left a spa on time and walked right into a group of them dealing with a couple of homeless who were causing an issue they just looked at me and one of them had a smirk on his face.

K...Yank to Yank, (so to speak), it's easy to become overwhelmed with the sheer scope/volume of options and how much more relaxed/accepted it is than our country, (see SESTA/FOSTA).
As mentioned, research the massage tomes written here on Perb, and try to narrow-down what type of experience you're looking for...I recall (10+ years ago) my first 'line-up' at Atlantis in Richmond and my brain could not absorb all the information that was being presented as each provider would introduce themselves and do a u-turn, next...next...next. “Walk in, sometimes there’s someone at the front desk or a girl or mamasan scurries out from the back when they hear you enter.

They ask how long you want to stay, let’s say half hour and they will tell you “$150 for half hour” and stick their hand out to collect payment in cash.

At this point say you want to see who is available, if you just fork over the cash on the spot she may send in their least busy, ie least attractive, girl that’s working.

She will put you in a room or viewing area, and they will parade through all the available girls. It could be just 1, it could be 5-6, who knows.

The girls will usually be wearing something skimpy like lingerie or swimsuits or something. They come through real quick, and if there are multiple be sure to remember the name of the one you want to see.

Mamasan/receptionist will come back after and ask for your choice. If you didn’t like anyone, be polite and tell her why and say you’ll be back another day. If you’ve made your choice, tell her and give her the cash. A lot of places use to be “$60 for the room, tips for extras negotiated with the girl” but the places I frequent are all up front and usually about $150/hh, sometimes extra to the girls in the room for bbbj/kissing/etc, but usually not.

Then you get undressed, take a shower (if the room has one) and wait what feels like an ungodly amount of time for your “masseuse” to return to the room. Then you get to fucking, or whatever…”

Went to Phoenix Massage yesterday and boy it was an experience.

Went in at around 7.30 PM Yesterday and was surprised to see many cars parked in the underground parking lot and immediately got cold feet. I still braved it and went ahead, and entered through the back door. There was just one more guy waiting to be shown to his room. The Mamasan seemed to be too busy (attending to the continuous calls) and it took her 5 mins to get that person in the room. In that time, another guy just walked in and just ignored me waiting for the mamasan and even he was shown to his room. At this point, I was just waiting for 10-15 mins and remembered @Fooker's reply about the long wait. Yeah, that sounded chaotic. Maybe it's an evening thing there, who knows. I've been to New Star and Lily at similar times and it's always been calm and peaceful. Also, when paying an all inclusive rate there's no expectation to tip on top of that unless you ask for extra services or you had an amazing session. Although based on what you witnessed, the ruckus concern makes sense!

I have been to Phoenix a lot of times and at different times of the day…morning, midday, evening, late night. It’s never that chaotic, that was exceptional. Late night is a bit of a different vibe, more guys hanging about waiting for girls. But even then it’s pretty calm.

My view on tips is same as @stalemate#67 I’ll “tip” for extra services if offered (although I really just view that as an extra charge for extra services on the menu) and then I’ll also tip for exceptional service after the fact. I have done that with a few girls at Pheonix because some of them really went above and beyond. On occasion I’ll tip in advance with a girl I’ve seen before because I feel like it’ll help based on our previous session.
