Only one thing makes me hate summer really, its the noise from neighbors. The yapping that goes thru walls and closed windows. Can't watch a movie cause your yapping too much. At times I leave the room and stay in the garage opposite the yard for an hour sometimes more to get away from the noise. Its horrible to the point I miss the constant rain and cold that as of now I wish was here. I don't think humans are meant to live so close to each other at least for me. I don't have the money to buy acres of land and get away from people.

Easy solution.. go camping. get away to the quiet of nature. away from all the homo sapiens to the tranquility of the wilderness. (except for all the noisy animals, bugs, birds etc). Still.. I love camping.

I guess I am just worn out of city life. Use to live in Hong Kong and NYC, two places I have zero desire to ever seen again.

HK, NYC and guessing Vancouver now? You're living in the wrong places for peace and quiet. Guessing (and hoping) not by choice.

Visited NYC when I was a kid, it was the worst place on earth in the 60s and 70s. So many people pushing and shoving each other, traffic in gridlock, everything filthy, people dropped garbage on the sidewalk even if a garbage can was ten feet away.

When I got older I bought 80 acres for peace and quiet, and my brother got 16 acres.

I thought it was going to be a summer rant, not a noise one. I have a couple of friends on the spectrum, and a set of good over ear noise cancelling headphones have been a life saver. They're great for airline travel as well.

I thought the experience was overblown till I bought a pair and used it to watch a movie with the ac on. Absolutely night and day. Even with nothing playing the noise cancelling dampens everything down 80%. It's not perfect but it can be a nice oasis in the sea of noise.

Summers on the other hand, it drives my hormones crazy. I just want to spend the days humping anything the remotely has a curve. The fact that cutoffs on both shirts and shorts are in season this year has nearly killed me.

You don't hate summer, you hate your home.

Just bought a ticket to Boise Idaho to see what the hype is about.

Been to New York this year. It was great. Lots of things to do and where I was (Manhattan), all the people were nice to me. I even had a decent price on the hotel. Overall a great time. Will go back there except, ya, it can be humid.

Boise. Was in Boise last year. It sucks. Don't want to go back there but probably will have to because of work. I have just had too many bad experiences with Idahoans. Mind you, the weather isn't all that bad there.

Love Vancouver winter. Love rain. Grey skies. Never been too keen on summer, but here it is ok. Climate change changed things, so to speak. Summer meant getting a couple of days of rain every week or so. For a few recent summers, actually going back to the 80's the 60 day droughts were a bit scary.

Going to be honest, I hate the longer daylight hours. I wish daylight savings and time change were reversed. Summer is great up to an extent when you're not at work and you can go out and enjoy, but otherwise it's like any other time of the year for me, except I can't be in bed by 10 Pm to be up for 6 Am
