Anyone else noticed that SP are now asking for proof of ID. Some even want you to send them a picture of your DL or something. Up until recently I have never come across this. I kind of get it, safety and what not, but I would never do this out of fear of sextortion. Many of us our professionals that need discretion and I just cannot get on board with this. Even e-transfers I feel the same way. Yes I am aware don't like their rules then move onto the next but was curious if anyone else has ran into this issue?

I have never run into this, but would be in the move-on camp.
Sounds like a great way for the blue to get your info; after all you would potentially be soliciting for particular services.

just my 2 cents

It seems to be the very in demand and high end that are looking for such things, not the Oh My types.

There are a lot of no show bookings and that sort of thing from the customer side, so I can understand that an SP that has a limited schedule and who a missed appointment means a serious loss of income they cannot recoup would want more verification. They know, if you give up your ID, you're going to show.

They just want to confirm you are real, some will even accept a PERB handle and a PERB pm. Again, any kind of confirmation will make them feel easier about holding a spot open for you.

If you are worried about the SP mis-using your info, that's probably not an SP you want to book. Like said above, its not the OM / scammer types that are looking for proof. Its the well reviewed travelling ladies. Were I booking one of them, I'd assuredly feel comfortable following the steps they needed to feel comfortable.

You trust the with their teeth around your johnson, trusting them with your ID seems less risky.

I have run into this also, under no circumstances I would ever give even the most well reputed SP my personal info, not just that they could do something with it but how do the store it, do they erase it, there is always a digital foot print on everything!

Again, its your choice, but really, anyone that worried should not be in this hobby. There has to be a level of trust.

How do you know they aren't using a hidden camera to catch you in flagrante delicto? Or at least on a Ring camera at the door. Or someone in their building getting you on the front door cam or elevator/hall cam heading to their room. Never mind the phone calls or texts, even a burner phone is traceable, you know.

Giving your DL or Linkd In account to an unknown SP with no reviews? If you are that dumb, you deserve what comes after. But giving your info to a well reviewed, well respected provider? If I want to see her, I will play by her rules.

While I do agree that a level of trust is required, the type of information we share is consequential.
A picture makes you much less vulnerable than does your drivers license, which has your home address and a proxy of your signature.
Also all it takes is one strategic piece of ID to acquire other pieces, then, like magic, there are 2 of you..

With all the fakes out there we should be the one's asking for ID and photo verification!

I hate to play devils advocate here but I’m pretty sure it would be reasonably easy to generate a fake drivers license on a computer, there not the police they have no way to check it. So I question how reliable it would be for screening not to mention there are people who sell stolen licenses.

A good way to somewhat get a copy of real id is ask for picture of id next to their face. Then ask for a picture of them beside their license plate.

More then not if the two don't match then they won't send the pictures or try to bs why they can't do it. Just saying.

Edit: that is if it's a drivers license and they are in the same province as there vehicle. If no vehicle but have government mail with name and same address is also a good verification method.
Why do I not just send mail you my passport a week in advance of the meeting.

To be fair, it is the ladies who are in the most vulnerable spot.
The women provide the service, while the men seek out their services for their own satisfaction.
The Men are putting themselves into vulnerable positions over something they seek out, leaving the burden of responsibility squarely on their shoulders.

When I ride my motorcycle, I make myself vulnerable knowing full well the hazards, because I love to ride. This is my own burden, and no one elses.

You can also send a selfie of you and your DL, with your finger obstructing a portion of the DL info, like part of the last name, address and signature... but showing enough that they feel comfortable..

Personally, if I was to ask for ID verification, this is what I would do. Show your full name but cover the signature and address - I don't need that info unless I'm doing an outcall to your house.
