@the Meat Market!!!lol
https://globalnews.ca/news/9968024/sex-workers-charter-challenge-court-decision/

pretty disappointing on a number of levels not the least of which was the bias and lack of impartiality by the judge. He claims to be focusing on law but makes broad sweeping assumptions about the evidence delivered by the Alliance and put way to much faith in police evidence....

I have a copy of the decision if people are interested....message me here....

also, this fight requires support....we have no funding and as always sex workers are last in line and first to get cut....

if you can afford to donate anything, please do.....i know times are tough but anything will help...

message me for details on donating to the fight and the ways we can protect your confidentiality if you choose to support this work

we will get there....feels like a set back....but in truth whether we won at this stage or not it was going to be appealed...so we are no further ahead or behind than we were before this judges decision.

if anyone has any questions please ask them here....and this does NOT impact the lowest level of enforcement policy adopted across BC, there will NOT suddenly be more enforcement or police raids...this will simply lead to the status quo....

love susie

from the article
According to the report, the number of women accused under Section 213 fell from 888 in 2010 to just five women accused in Canada in 2019.
And 213 is

Stopping or impeding traffic

  • 213 (1) Everyone is guilty of an offence punishable on summary conviction who, in a public place or in any place open to public view, for the purpose of offering, providing or obtaining sexual services for consideration,
    • (a) stops or attempts to stop any motor vehicle; or
    • (b) impedes the free flow of pedestrian or vehicular traffic or ingress to or egress from premises adjacent to that place.
    • (c) [Repealed, 2014, c. 25, s. 15]
  • Marginal note:Communicating to provide sexual services for consideration
(1.1) Everyone is guilty of an offence punishable on summary conviction who communicates with any person — for the purpose of offering or providing sexual services for consideration  —  in a public place, or in any place open to public view, that is or is next to a school ground, playground or daycare centre.
  • Definition of public place
    (2) In this section, public place includes any place to which the public have access as of right or by invitation, express or implied, and any motor vehicle located in a public place or in any place open to public view.

I was wondering how SP were still being charged when it they are not supposed to be charged. Its solicitating in public.

Oh! how I long for ancient Rome and its ways.....

Jesus make escorting legal and tax it somehow. That is one way to lower the Canadian debt.
