Is it me, or do the 'pictures' never ever resemble the listed cup size? For a supposed 'G' cup in her photo she looks like a C cup max so what do we trust?

Rule of thumb, Asian breast sizes should be seen as one or two cups smaller. That’s the truth of how they measure bust size. I confirmed this with”Brownie” from Xiao several months back. She was listed as “E cup” but her bra size was a single D. We discussed it. I’ve confirmed with a few others as well as referenced the issue online. Soda at Xiao is listed as “F cup” but she told me she’s DDD in North American sizes.

As far as photos, never trust them entirely. Just look at reviews first, rarely be the one to TOFTT, and go in with healthy skepticism and be happy to be rewarded, not pissed of you’re not.

Ah breasts. Love em, love larger ones but in general love em all.
My current fwb is a 36D by her own admission. In chatting with her about breasts the topic of how do you measure? or determine? I mean for those of us who love boobs, I doubt we carry a tape measure and do the tit math to say "Ah ha! you said you were a 34DD and you are a 36C!
She told me that bra fitting is an art, and that she could not go by what the manufacturer's say, has to pretty much fit any new brand she wants.
So we did some googling and found this little clip that she agrees is a good start.
Is it definitive? Doubt it, but I think it goes to show that a lot of the measurements we see are suggestions.

That's pooning in general. But some of the shops never meet their girls. It's not like an interview process. The girls supply the images and their stats, and they're not lying about their boob sizes, usually. It's just the differences in regional measurement standards as I pointed out.
I confirmed this with at least one shop owner and he said it is most likely the same for the other popular shops, except of course AF.

you beat me to it. yes DDD = F cup. but 32F is not the EXACT same as 36D. the number 32 refers to size in inches around the chest, just beneath the tits. the letter refers to the amount of meat in dem titties. sometimes a 34E can fit into a 32F or a 36D but that's not always the case

All this is fairly complicated, and subjectively we notice cup volumes relative to other proportions, and the sizes do not indicate lift and firmness.

That is true, but the labels on the garments that's a different story. Also note that there is no official size 33, for example, so that's why the same lady might be 32D and 34C.
In summary, what a "D" looks like depends on the number before.
