4 random attacks a day according to the news.
What the fuck happened to our city?
And why is this shit being allowed to go on without a clean up?
I know - the 'kind' folks will say mental health and this and that but really - W T F.

I say bring back mental institutions. The mental health issues of some people are so severe that they simply cannot function normally in society.
Don’t get me wrong. They should not be made to suffer the horrors of insane asylums of earlier times. All efforts should be made to ensure that these facilities are as humane and comfortable as possible, with the focus on healing and re-integration into society.

But for the safety of themselves and society as a whole, some of these people have to be taken off the streets.

Yes these people are sick and should not be running around. I remember the poor guy who got decapitated on a bus near Winnipeg by someone who was sick. And he is running around right now. 🤬

Without a long-winded rant:
Nothing random about these attacks. Underneath it all, there is an undeclared war going on for who really controls this city.
Laws are unenforceable now. Not just some of them, but even the major ones. And the street knows it. Top to bottom, they no longer give a fuck about getting caught.
The line between how we live and the 3rd world grows ever thinner. Nobody should act like it can't happen here, when it already is.

Global New reported that there are an average of 4 stabbings a week now in the lower mainland. Unprovoked random attacks by strangers. They said there were over 1500 stabbings in the lower mainland last year.

when you leave a huge group of people without the support they need for decades, violence is going to happen. let’s get these people housed and cared for. it’s shameful that we’ve abandoned the most vulnerable in our society.
Not as easy as that unfortunately, many refuse housing if they’re too mentally unstable to know what’s even going on . A very close friend here in Victoria has been in the trenches since pre-pandemic & many cannot be left in accommodations without setting them on fire or stripping the room & selling off the pieces . There’s no easy answer.
Housing is a great answer for those only lacking housing , most on the street need much more then that.
Something between a hospital & a co-op living facility is needed for sure.

The "do gooders" say that controlling these people is violating their civil rights, but they conveniently forget about the civil rights of the victims to go about their business unmolested. The mayor of Nanaimo was soundly criticized because he recommended bringing back mental institutions for those individuals who could benefit. Everyone that I have heard that suggests institutions always say that it is not a matter of locking them up and throwing away the key, but secure, safe housing, with proper nutrition, and help in restoring their mental well being.

Was an item on Victoria downtown small business owners having to live with homeless in front of their stores. Impeding foot traffic to their stores. Smashing windows. One Store owner said even with the insurance deductible, she still had to pay over $1000.00 for a broken window, which definitely cuts into her margin. The city of Victoria, as with everywhere else decided not to do anything about the situation as it risked infringing on the rights of the homeless to pitch camp in front of stores downtown.
Comes a point where you just say fuck'em. Get out.

Seems like it.
Someone is going to get killed at this rate.
Repeat offenders too, always released from custody after they're apprehended.
It's all fucked up.
Police said the incident remains under investigation and the suspect has been released with a future court.

The suspect is barred from contacting the victim and is to not attend the 900 block of Pandora Avenue, police said.

Unfucking believable....

They arrested the subhuman in the cowardly racist attack.
They'll probably release him for a court date.

The mentally ill and the additicted should be given treatment, whether they want it or not. The rest are just common criminals and should be rounded up and jailed for the appropriate amount of time depending on what crimes they have committed.

The situation in Vancouver is worse than it's ever been. I've lived in the lower mainland for over fifty years and I've seen a steady decline.

You can thank the soft on crime "progressive" politicians, the poverty pimps and various other do gooders and enablers.

Some of these people are well intentioned, but they lack a basic understanding of human nature. If you condone bad behavior, you will get bad behavior. Anything short of punishment via incarceration is enabling.

Anyone who doesn't understand this is being wilfully ignorant. Period.

Hopefully those woke politicians or their family members need to be assaulted. Then you will see change.
