I am. Finally a smaller truck for short guys like me (5'6). And not too pricy either. Always wanted a Ford but the F150 and Ranger are just too big and bulky in the city. Can't wait for it to arrive and hopefully it's gonna be good.

Triggered some Nostalgia. Italian guy I worked with in Calgary on a framing crew in 1969 had one something like that color but more lime green metallic. Worked all summer long in the blazing heat. Smell of fresh lumber and the sound of skill saws. 10 hours a day. $2.00 an hour. Even so. I kind of loved it. As the summer wore on and the fall weather took hold the air felt cool and refreshing and there was an excitement in the changing season. Felt like an elk in the rutting season.
Always thought it was a cool little car. I envied the guy with his new car with it's green and black checkered fabric seats. . I was taking the bus.
Tears running down my cheeks as I crack open another beer thinking about it.. lol.

Was that the one that exploded when you got rear ended? Or was that the Pinto, I forget.
It was the Pinto that went up in flames if rear ended. Did a college project on it, and it still boggles the mind.

My goodness - 1969! Angry so nostalgic it's almost poetic. My summer job that year was working for a rental-car company. Most of the fleet was Plymouths as big as battleships, with power steering so sensitive you'd go in the ditch if your finger twitched on the steering wheel. The pay was probably about the same as angry quotes, but we were kids and we got to drive new cars all over the place. It was a pretty good summer.

I'm about halfway through my beer.

This is Ford returning to its roots: transportation for the masses. Not bad value for $28K.

But the main question is: has their quality improved? Or are they basically disposable and useless after 4 years?

My buddy had that Pinto.
He took it in for the recall and all they did was put duct tape over the fuel filler line.

Ford is investing in a whole new infrastructure for EV's. Their battery development alone warrants a close look at them for an investment.

I remember the original Mavericks. In particular the one where Ford dropped in a 305 was it? Rebored 289 with giant Weber carb? Hard to keep rubber on that thing it was so overpowered and lightweight.

But onto the OP, yeah, a new small-ish lower cost truck for general semi-urban guys like me who have gardening and woodworking/landscaping projects on the go all time is in my wheel house. My old Chevy S-10 is getting into that 385K km range and shit will start to happen anytime. Going EV would be pretty cool too!!

As long as they don't try bringing back the Plymouth Horizon in an altered state..
