So I called an ad, they told us to meet up in dt condo. Then met up with boss lady. She took our cash, then told us to wait at condo and then ghosted us. Noob mistake, I know. But this was my first time, lesson learned. I am now out 1.2k. any advice on what to do?

😱 sorry to hear about your experience. I guess the only thing you can do is go to the cops. Not sure if they’d do something. Since I’ve heard here that, all they do is take your statement and that’s about it. Then possibly you can get the cctv footage to ID the person and what not. But do you want to go down that path?
I can’t really think of any other way. Mind you even that will be unlikely you will get your money back

Wow..ouch...1200/- 99% of Ads on LL are Fake, Scammers and Ripp-off. One has to be very, very careful of Ads on LL. You have to do your due diligence very very well.

I would call the police because if theyve been doing this, thats in the realm of grand larceny as opposed to petty theft.

Edit: if theyve been doing this to a handful of 1.3g each, then thats theft of $5k which is grand larceny, a serious indictable offense.

I would call the police and see what they have to say.
Chances are this madam/boss lady has been ripping people off as a way of life. I doubt she limits her criminal activity to just scamming pooners.
You’ll literally be doing a community service reporting her to the cops.
She may already be on the radar, maybe arrested a few times in other provinces, maybe an outstanding warrant.
Let us know what the police have to say.

You’ve been a member since 2015, probably a pooner well before that.
Treat the $1.2k as an educational investment and be thankful you didn’t get stung for more!!
I’m sorry you got scammed. Now smarten the fuck up!!!

One question I have that no one else has asked is what do you mean by “us”? Were you there with a friend or something?

Also, like others have said, call the police. $1,200 is way too much money to just do nothing about, in my opinion.

I like your attention to detail. But how is this in any way help the OP? 🤷🏽‍♂️
